Here is a beginner tutorial for setting up characters. The tutorial includes some advanced techniques for Intermediate+ users as well, that should be very easy to follow!

The first two parts of the tutorial are only using After Effects. The third part uses a plugin called DUIK Angela (previously known as Duik Bassel). Which is a free plug in. I'm showing you how to use it in a light and simple way, so you don't get lost in an otherwise elaborate and versatile tool!
