YTP - The Rosen Venture [Part 7] - SnanS Edition Dave-K 2017-12-31 | What is the SnanS Edition?It's a slight update of Rosen Venture Part 7. Includes the new watermark, alternate colour grading, a corrected SnanS counter and has been upscaled to 2K for better YouTube Compression (Not that it would matter much with a YTP this old but whatever.)Why so few changes?Two reasons.1. The original project files are gone and only the numerous test/near final renders remain. I effectively had to reverse-engineer this to update it in any way.2. This was all made in a version of Final Cut that lacked advanced tools such as Masking or proper Colour Grading, it demonstrates what a software like Vegas or Premiere can achieve and is meant to encourage people to push their softwares to the limits.Pulling a George Lucas Special Edition on this would go against that original intention so I instead chose to preserve as much of the original video as possible, warts and all. (Sentence mixing, chroma keying, the 'al' towards the end, etc)Everything you see here can still be done in Final Cut, and since newer updates have added many more tools, you can probably make it even better nowadays.Why release this now?Another two reasons.1. This version was originally exclusive to Vidme, a nice alternative to YouTube that sadly closed down some time ago. Though this probably would've remained off of YouTube if it weren't for my second reason...2. To reinvigorate interest in the series for those that may've forgotten about it. It's been almost a year and a half since Part 9 was released and amidst a bunch of problems IRL, Ryan (DrHotelMario) has been hard at work making Part 10 the best it can possibly be in whatever time he can spare (We're all succumbing to an incurable disease called "adulthood"). We all hope you enjoy Part 10 once it's done.What about you Dave? What're your future plans?I'll try to lend a hand with finishing off this series if Ryan needs help, but in terms of everything else, well, I can't keep promises anymore.I'm so out-of-the-loop with YTPs and the whole community that even if I had the time during what is currently my last year at Uni, I feel like I've long become an outcast or an old fart, like I'm still desperately clambering for a hobby that's so far out of reach.2015 was the best year of my life, with this flawed but ambitious video being the crown jewel of it all. So over the course of this summer, I may end up doing what I did with my old 'MORāLIS' project and make a "fake trailer".Basically, I'd go all-out with making a trailer that is as close to what I envisioned as possible. I only recently remembered I had these left on my computer, so I decided to finish it up and upload it.Thus, without realising, I've technically made what's known on the internet as a "Smexual" (Videos focused entirely around distorting and sentence mixing audio from games).Once again, apologies for a lack in either uploads or quality. I'd like to upload at least one video per month, though my course is going to be incredibly busy for the next few months, especially around May.

After Effects: Black Hole Test Dave-K 2016-02-06 | Screwing around with After Effects.I came up with a better result, but I sadly lost the progress :/ I'd need a computer with more RAM to handle these effects...Also the spaceship video clip has a low framerate, so it doesn't look great.

YTPMV- Zero Punctuation Theme (Doom Cover) Dave-K 2015-09-27 | My first full-length YTPMV. Based on the "Zero Punctuation Theme" by Ian Dorsch with a couple of twists.So literally a few weeks after my 700ish sub special, I've clocked around 800 subs. but it's a bit more difficult to make videos at the moment, what with Uni and the mammoth of a project that is The Rosen Venture: Part 7, so in the meantime, here's the Zero Punctuation YTPMV I made for ILVG2.Not sure how Yahtzee would react to this if he ever has the misfortune of accidentally stumbling across it...Actually I imagine he'd say something along the lines of "Well I at least respect this guy for trying to find some form of music out of mindlessly smashing weapons, chainsaws, hell-spawn and construction tools together into a faulty trash compactor that's mistaken itself for a subwoofer..."But anyway, make what you will of this, some may like it, some may not, opinions are opinions.Special thanks to Nex_ for technical assistance and feedback.And yes, The Rosen Venture IS still being made. I've done over 6 minutes so far, but I've got a lot of dialogue to try and make for the middle section, which is even harder knowing I have to chroma key everything and animate different parts of each character constantly.It's gonna take quite a while so ya'll need to be patient (keep in mind each part of the Rosen Venture has taken months to complete, part 3 took well over 3 months!
