Here’s how Infineon does hot swap at kilowatt scale.
At APEC 2026, Tao introduces Infineon’s protection solutions built for modern AI and infrastructure power systems. At the center is a 6 kW reference design combining the XDP712 hot swap controller with a 100 V eFuse MOSFET, designed to manage inrush current, faults, and system startup without drama.
Monitoring matters too. The XDM700 tracks voltage, current, and temperature in real time, helping protect sensitive AI loads before small issues become expensive failures. For 48 V systems, Infineon shows multiple eFuse options, including a 90 amp solution for high current rails and a 20 amp device designed to protect up to 40 amp applications.
And when voltages climb higher, the portfolio scales with them. Infineon’s XDP701 hot swap controller supports 400 V and 800 V designs, bringing the same controlled startup and fault protection to high voltage power architectures.
