GM just unveiled its brand new 6th Generation Small Block V8s at Flint Engine Operations for the 2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500. We're talking the new L76 5.7L 350ci with 402 horsepower and 428 lb-ft and the monster L78 6.6L 400ci with 481 horsepower and 501 lb-ft - the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 in its class. In this video I give you the full deep dive on the Good, Bad & Ugly, including dual fuel injection, new oiling system, 13,700 lb tow rating, and what it means for us truck guys.
In this video I break down exactly who killed the small American truck — from EPA footprint rules and CAFE standards that penalized compact trucks, to the insane profit margins that pushed Ford, Chevy and Ram to build nothing but $60k+ full-size trucks.
We’ll look at the rise and fall of legends like the Ford Ranger, Chevy S-10, Dodge Dakota and GMC Sonoma, why the hybrid style Mavericks and Santa Cruz aren't true replacements, and whether America will ever get a real, affordable small work truck back. If you miss small trucks, this one’s for you.

In this video we break down how General Motors AFM/DFM, actually work, why so many owners report lifter failures and oil consumption issues. We also dig into the thin-oil/CAFE connection driving these systems in the first place, and talk real numbers on how cylinder deactivation problems affect resale value on used trucks. If you're shopping a used Chevy or GMC Truck or SUV, this is what the dealer probably won't walk you through.

Ram Trucks? Ford? That's the question I'm actually asking in this one. It's not a simple "which truck is better" video — it's a deep dive into brand loyalty data, GM's 6.2L engine recall and the NHTSA investigation that followed, Ram's Hurricane engine problems and their new 100,000-mile warranty gamble, and why Toyota keeps winning even when their own engines run into trouble. We'll look at real industry loyalty numbers going back to 2003, why there isn't a single new truck in America under $25,000 anymore, and whether "brand loyalty" even means what it used to.
Whether you're a lifelong Chevy or GMC owner, a Ford F-150 diehard, a Ram loyalist, or just someone who's noticed truck prices getting out of hand, this one's for you. Drop a comment and let me know — would would it take to make you switch?

This video traces the real history of right to repair in America, from the 1975 Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act through OBD-II standardization, the death of the junkyard parts swap, and the ongoing legal fight in Massachusetts over vehicle data access. I'll walk you through my own trucks — a 6L80 transmission that has to be VIN-coded to the vehicle, an electronic parking brake that'll burn out if you skip the service mode, and a battery management system that quietly shortchanges you if you don't register a new battery. We'll hear the manufacturers' side too — safety, cybersecurity, anti-theft, emissions — and then look at what independent investigators actually found when they checked those claims.
By the end, you'll understand why winning the legal fight over right to repair doesn't automatically put a wrench back in your hand — and why the guy in his own driveway may still be the one left out, even if every bill in Congress passes. If you've ever felt like your new truck belongs more to the manufacturer than it does to you, this one's for you. Like, subscribe, and drop a comment if you've run into your own VIN-locked nightmare — I want to hear it. #RightToRepair #TruckMaintenance #ChevySilverado

Are They The Real Deal?AmericanOutdoors2026-08-27 | GM just discontinued the troubled 6.2L V8 after years of reliability complaints, and in its place comes two brand new engines: the 5.7L L76 and 6.6L L78, both part of GM's all-new Gen 6 Small Block family debuting in the 2027 Silverado and Sierra 1500. These aren't just new displacements, they're a deliberate callback to the legendary 350 and 400 cubic inch small blocks that built GM's reputation in the first place. In this video, we break down what GM has confirmed so far, what's still unverified or speculation, and how these new engines stack up against the reliability issues that plagued the outgoing 6.2L.
But this isn't just an engine spec breakdown, it's a bigger question about where the truck market is headed. With new vehicle prices climbing and buyers increasingly prioritizing affordability, repairability, and long-term dependability over flashy tech, does GM's new small block actually answer what customers have been asking for, or is this another case of marketing nostalgia dressed up as innovation? We dig into GM's messaging, the real engineering changes versus the heritage branding, and what this means for anyone cross-shopping a new truck. #ScenicDrive #CumberlandPlateau #TennesseeBackroads #RelaxingDriveBody Rot vs. Software Rot: Why Your Next Truck Might Not LastAmericanOutdoors2026-08-20 | Rust used to be the thing that killed a Chevy, Ford or Dodge truck — frame rot, floorboards, rocker panels eaten clean through. But there's something new coming for the trucks being built today, and it won't show up as a hole in a fender. In this video I break down why modern trucks are packed with software, sensors, and interconnected computer modules that could leave them obsolete decades before the sheet metal ever gives out — using real examples like GM's OnStar shutdown and the death of Apple CarPlay in future Chevys. I also dig into the real numbers behind today's truck prices: record loan amounts, record monthly payments, and why automakers keep building expensive trucks while barely offering anything affordable. Shot right here in the shop next to my own '80s and '90s trucks, because I still believe simple, repairable machines are worth defending.

There isn't — not anymore. In this video I break down what's actually left in the $2,500-and-under range of classic trucks and cars, why non-running project vehicles rarely turn a real profit once you count parts, labor, and time, and why even a small bank investment can outperform a barn find truck flip over six months. I walk through real Marketplace pricing on 1967-72 Chevy C10s, a rough 1971 Chevelle Malibu example, and the classic beginner mistakes that turns a "profitable flip" into 150 hours of unpaid labor.
If you're into classic trucks, muscle cars, restomods, barn finds, project vehicles, or flipping cars for profit, this one's for you. I cover Restoration Math, why fixing up a non-running original often shrinks your buyer pool instead of growing it, and the handful of ways people actually do make money around old iron — parting out, working on them professionally, or turning the process into content. Whether you're chasing a 1970s Chevy or GMC square-body, an old Ford truck, or just love classic American trucks and cars from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, you'll walk away with a clearer picture of the real numbers behind this hobby.
If you're selling a classic truck, muscle car, or any vintage auto on Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, or any online listing site, this is the kind of story that'll make you double-check who you're dealing with and help you separate the serious from the time wasters.
After the story, I break down the red flags and warning signs every classic car and truck seller should watch for. Whether you're selling a 1967-1987 Chevy or GMC square body, a classic muscle car, a project truck, or any vintage vehicle online, these are the same scams and time-wasting tactics showing up in inboxes everywhere.

“His Trysting Place” is a 1914 Keystone Studios silent comedy film written and directed by legendary filmmaker and comedian Charlie Chaplin. This restored full-length silent movie is one of Chaplin’s early two-reel comedies and showcases his growing talent for structured storytelling, character humor, and escalating domestic chaos.
In this classic silent film comedy, Chaplin plays a rare married role as a husband caught in a misunderstanding-filled domestic situation with his wife, Mabel. Sent out to fetch a baby bottle of milk, he becomes entangled in a case of mistaken identity when another married man, Ambrose, agrees to mail a love letter for a neighbor. Their worlds hilariously collide at a restaurant when they accidentally swap overcoats—triggering a chain reaction of confusion, jealousy, and comic suspicion.
When the men return home, chaos erupts. Mabel discovers a love letter in Charlie’s coat and assumes infidelity, while Ambrose’s wife finds a baby bottle and believes her husband is secretly hiding a child. The misunderstandings spiral until all four characters meet in a comedic confrontation at the park, leading to a chaotic yet partially resolved conclusion with a final twist.
Starring: Charlie Chaplin, Mabel Normand, Mack Swain, and Phyllis Allen. This film stands out as one of Chaplin’s strongest early Keystone comedies due to its tighter narrative structure and stronger character development. It is also notable for being one of the few early Chaplin films where a baby appears as part of the story. The humor surrounding Chaplin’s interaction with the infant reflects early versions of his physical comedy style that would later define his career.

Directed by Buster Keaton and Edward F. Cline, and produced by Joseph M. Schenck under the Comique Film Corporation banner, the film stars Buster Keaton alongside Virginia Fox and Joe Roberts. Filmed in the early Hollywood studio era in Los Angeles, California, this short showcases Keaton’s legendary stunt work and groundbreaking visual comedy style that helped define early American film.
The story follows two young lovers living in adjacent homes whose families are bitter enemies. Their attempts to meet across a backyard fence lead to escalating chaos, misunderstandings, and physical comedy involving collapsing structures, jail time, and daring escapes. Keaton’s character uses ingenious acrobatics and perfectly timed gags to overcome obstacles, making this one of his most memorable early works. Trivia: many of the physical stunts were performed without doubles, and the elaborate backyard fence sequences are considered some of Keaton’s most influential early visual comedy setups.
This version has been carefully enhanced for modern viewing, including color correction, restoration, and reformatting for widescreen presentation. The film follows Chaplin’s iconic Tramp character as he becomes entangled in a series of mishaps while working as a laborer, turning a simple job into an explosive chain of comedic accidents. Known for its fast pacing, visual gags, and tightly choreographed chaos, Work is considered a strong example of Chaplin’s early development as a filmmaker blending comedy with social commentary.
The film stars Charlie Chaplin, Edna Purviance, Billy Armstrong, and Charles Inslee, and was directed by Charlie Chaplin himself. It was produced by the Essanay Film Manufacturing Company in 1915, during Chaplin’s brief but influential period with the studio. Production took place primarily in Los Angeles, California (Essanay West Coast studios and surrounding locations). The film reflects Chaplin’s growing creative control over direction, performance, and comedic structure, solidifying his transition from vaudeville performer to cinematic auteur.
At the time of release, Work was widely received as a high-energy comedy filled with inventive slapstick and visual storytelling, typical of early Chaplin films that were distributed across silent-era nickelodeons and theaters. Modern retrospectives view it as an important early work in Chaplin’s evolution, highlighting his mastery of timing, physical choreography, and satire of working-class life. The film remains a key artifact of silent cinema history, Essanay Studios output, and early Hollywood comedy filmmaking.
This version of Work (1915) is based on a public domain silent film originally produced by Essanay Studios. The original footage has been digitally restored, colorized, reformatted, and edited for presentation purposes. This includes the addition of new title cards, reconstructed intertitles/dialogue cards, and enhanced original musical accompaniment for modern viewing. These creative enhancements are intended to improve accessibility and viewing experience while preserving the integrity of the original 1915 motion picture. Released in 1915, the film also features Edna Purviance, Carl Stockdale, and Leo White. Filmed primarily in Chicago, where Essanay Picutres was based, the silent film was produced on a modest budget typical of the era (exact figures are unknown), with Chaplin not only directing but shaping the story and comedic style that would define his early career.
In the film, Chaplin plays his iconic Tramp character working as a janitor in a busy bank. Clumsy and overlooked, he secretly harbors feelings for a young secretary (Purviance), imagining himself as her heroic protector. The story builds to a dramatic (and comedic) dream sequence where he bravely stops a bank robbery and wins her admiration—only to wake up and face reality, where his affection is unreturned. The film blends slapstick humor with a surprisingly emotional undercurrent, showcasing Chaplin’s growing ability to mix comedy with pathos.
"The Bank" is often noted as one of the earliest examples of Chaplin adding genuine emotional depth to his comedies, paving the way for later masterpieces like "The Kid" and "City Lights".
A fun piece of trivia: the famous robbery scene is actually part of a dream, a storytelling twist that was uncommon in 1915. The film also highlights Chaplin’s evolving partnership with Edna Purviance, who became one of his most important leading ladies. Today, it remains a standout short that captures both the humor and heartbreak of the Tramp character.
This restored presentation of The Bank has been colorized, edited, reformatted, and enhanced for modern viewing. We have added original AI-generated music, custom title cards, dialogue cards, and an intro/outro sequence to create a fresh viewing experience while preserving the spirit of the original film. .
