Dr. Jaswant Singh Yadav, an FMGE coaching teacher, was on his fifth consecutive day of hunger strike on 24 August. He has been protesting against alleged irregularities in the FMGE held in June 2026 and demanding compensation for the aspirants who appeared for the examination.

Doctors have described his condition as one of “prolonged starvation”, with Dr. Yadav reportedly having lost more than 6 kg of body weight during the protest.
