Wagner Leitmotifs | 59 Wotan's Wrath : Der Ring Des Nibelungen @wagnerleitmotifs7654 | Uploaded September 2013 | Updated October 2024, 10 hours ago.
This leitmotif is first heard in act 2 scene 2 of Die Walkure.
This motif represents Wotan's rage against Brunnhilde after she defies him and attempts to save Siegmund. It is first heard as he tells the that she must kill Siegmund and she resists him. I is heard in full force however at the very end of act 2 as he storms of in pursuit of her, then again at the end of Act 3 scene 1 as Wotan comes onto the rock where the Valkyries are shielding Brunnhilde.
