Canada’s new $5,000 EV incentive sounds like great news… and honestly, it is helpful.
But let’s be real.
When most electric cars still cost $50K, $60K, or more, that credit doesn’t suddenly make them affordable. And if you live in an apartment with no nearby chargers, the charging infrastructure matters just as much as the incentive itself.
In this short, I talk about what’s missing from the EV conversation, on-street charging where people actually live, credits for used EVs, and why we’re not seriously talking about lower-cost electric cars.
If affordability is the goal, we need policies that reflect how people actually live and what they can realistically afford.
