50 Year Mortgages Will Increase Housing Affordability Right? Wrong.
50 Year Mortgages Will:
a. Add to inflationary pressure as already high home prices are bid up even more.
b. Incentivize prospective buyers to purchase homes they can't afford -- similar to what zero down payment Adjustable Rate Mortgages did in 2008. Anyone else remember how that ended?
c. Create a new normal of "rent to own" where people are living in houses with no equity and no asset accumulation.
