Introducing solids to your baby is an exciting milestone, but it also comes with a new set of challenges. One of the most frightening is gagging.

Many parents see their child gagging and worry they're choking. But gagging is actually a perfectly normal reflex, particularly when feeding solids to a young child. Among other reasons, this happens because their gag reflex is much further forward in their mouth than an adult's, and they aren't capable of manipulating food in their mouth like an adult can.

Gagging can become a problem when it's so frequent that it becomes difficult go actually get your child to swallow any food. Usually when this happens it's because of one of a few common mistakes that often cause gagging. Once you figure out the cause, these are quite easy to adjust for to fix the problem.

In this video I'll walk you through 5 common reasons why children gag on solid foods and how to avoid this behavior as much as possible.

I hope you find this one helpful!
