Changing my name to u.WatchMojo, I guess! Anyways, have you listened to Lana's "Blue Banisters" yet? It's such a good album, definitely better than COCC, but I'm still unsure where I would rank it when it comes to the rest of her albums, but wow, it's so beautiful! I love the variety of sound in "Text Book" and how well it can go from one style into another. Plus, the progressive tempo change in the chorus is orgasmic! "Blue Banisters" has very good storytelling, I love its lyrics! "Arcadia" is probably my favourite song on the album -- the melody is beautiful, the lyrics are so clever and I love the symbolism of equating USA to Arcadia, buying into the ~American dream while also showing disappointment when learning that it's not real. The use of that Adim chord (I believe) makes the sound feel uneasy whenever it's mixed in with the rest of the song, making you not only hear the "trouble in paradise", but also feel it. "If You Lie Down with Me" just has very good lyrics, and it shows that simplicity can go a long way. "Beautiful" is... well... just beautiful. "Violets for Roses" made me not know what to expect, but again, it's a beautiful song with nice lyrics and good storytelling. But "Dealer"... hooohhh my god!! The song feels primal, animalistic. The emotions are so raw and when I listed to it I don't know if I wanna fight someone or run head-first into a wall. "Living Legend" -- I found out that this song was an UV outtake, and yeah, it sounds so, but it still fits well on this album. I'm glad Lana's releasing some of her unreleased stuff, so now I'm hoping to hear Noir, Never Let Me Go, Butterflies (Part 2), Fake Diamond, Serial Killer (let's end it there) on her next projects. And lastly, "Cherry Blossom" hits close to home, it's short, sweet, simple and emotional. I love it!
