"Under the Sea Wind" by Rachel Carson is her first environmental work, and her self-professed favorite of her books. First published in 1941, the book's release was quickly overshadowed by the United States's entry into World War II, and it was another 10 years before Carson wrote her follow-up "The Sea Around Us". I think this is going to be the best book I read all year, and I hope you'll check it out as well. I also plan to continue reading her Sea Trilogy, so watch this space for my thoughts on the other two books.
