I broke down a used kid's bike and was surprised how many cool materials I found that could be reused for other projects.

I had the work Loek Vellekoop on my mind while I was doing this:

Specifically I was thinking of using the spokes as tines for one of his Trash Kalimbas.

Also, the Rings of Saturn chandelier from Modustrial Maker could be adapter for the bike rim.

And the rubber lining and tubing are a tried and true material for DIYers:

The wheel hub could be used in a pulley, or for a windmill, or a bearing in a project that spins.

I'm curious to hear what you guys would do with these parts.
