This video was a suggestion from a viewer in a recent video as often, I'll speak about common mistakes but I might not actually show them, or why they impact throwing on the potter's wheel so much, so, here we are.
In this weekend's video I'll be discussing 5 extremely common mistakes most beginners will encounter. There's no avoiding these, at some point in the learning process you'll run into these issues and without a proper diagnosis they can be quite tricky to figure out. In a way, that's why learning to throw in a physical, class setting can be so helpful, as hopefully your teacher will pinpoint these problems and will show you how to resolve them.
The issue is, nowadays, more and more people are picking up the craft of pottery in an insular way, learning online, and in this environment you lack having an expert that can poke you and prod you to push you along and to identify WHY you're making the same mistakes over and over again...
So, that's what I hope this video helps with. These are all problems I remember running into at the start and fundamentally, the most useful thing that can happen is somebody points them out to you.
