In the summer of 1989, a Japanese police helicopter flying over the dense wilderness of Mount Asahi spotted something strange on the forest floor: an enormous SOS – perfectly shaped, unmistakable – built from 19 birch trees, each five meters long.
A desperate cry for help, carved into the landscape.
But when rescuers reached the site, no one was there.
Just bones. A makeshift grave. A cassette recorder. And a voice on tape… still pleading to be saved...
