After traveling around Oman for a few days—wandering the Muscat corniche with Issam, hiking through Wadi Shab, scuba diving with Dee at Aura Divers, and carb-loading in the best way possible—I’m finally lining up for the Oman Desert Marathon, a five-day, self-sufficient stage race covering 165 kilometers (103 miles) across the Wahiba Sands, deep in Bedouin territory. This trail running adventure is all about endurance, heat, and pushing limits in one of the world’s most stunning desert landscapes.
