Paper Kawaii - Origami TutorialsHow to make a pretty paper heart gift box! Download the free printable template to make your own DIY heart box for your crush, partner or friends for Valentine's Day! ❤️
Great for Valentine's Day, anniversaries, parties or weddings!
The template can be printed onto the paper of your choice. I recommend thick paper or card.
The glue you use will depend on your paper, double sided sticky tape could be used too. For thinner paper I prefer using a glue stick. For thick card, liquid PVA glue seems better.
For heart boxes that fit inside each other, start by making one box, then the second time you print the template, set the printer to scale at about 80% and so on.
Hope you like this box! The shape was first created using Blender, a free 3d software, and then edited in illustrator.

#valentines #heart #diyOrigami Diamond Divider Box Tutorial DIY - Paper KawaiiPaper Kawaii - Origami Tutorials2021-08-26 | Learn how to make a pretty and useful origami box with 5 sections. These diamond shaped boxes fit within a larger square box with a lid. This paper box requires no glue.
🎧 Another ASMR style video, let me know what you think, do you miss the music? If you do, you can visit this link and listen to the music I would have included: soundcloud.com/paperkawaii
I've gotten a lot of comments asking "wheres the new video", "when can I upload" etc, I can't upload as much as I used to, and can't even give a schedule or even idea of how often I can post, for various reasons. I just plan to do more.
This origami box of boxes is made from 4 diamond shaped boxes on the inside. These gem shaped boxes are inside-out variations of my previous box "Origami Diamond Box & Lid", back in 2015 (re-make tutorial here: youtube.com/watch?v=EJUofb2JRPA). This looks like a great homemade chocolate or desert box. Otherwise it would be great to store crystals, beads, pins and any other small items that need to be sorted.
The small square inner box is a reversed custom size masu box, the outer box and lid in a masu box of a custom size. I had sketched the idea for this box on the back of a pad of paper at some point.
Paper used: 4 sheets of square paper 15 x 15 cm 1 square sheet of square paper 12.5 x 12.5 cm (trimmed down from the 15 x 15cm) 2 sheets of 21 x 21 cm paper (trimmed from A4 paper) Final model size: 11.5 x 11.5 x 2.7 cm
Using other sizes: To get the correct size sheets, take the size you want to use for the outer box. For example, 30 x 30 cm (for the outer box and lid) Divide 30 by 1.4 = 21 (use 21 for the gem shaped boxes) Then take 21 and divide by 1.2 = 17.5 (use for the small inner box)

No need for any glue! This miniature origami houseplant will sit happily on your desk and makes a great gift.
I've had this little origami pot plant sitting on my desk for a long time, I think it was waiting for the pot to be created, as that's brand new. Thought of calling this a love heart plant or something, as the leaves look like little hearts..
Hope you enjoy the tutorial, this one was quite hard to film, I'm rusty and clearly had trouble keeping the paper in the frame. I actually re-filmed some of this on seperate days. 😅 As for future videos, I don't know if I am actually "back", we will see how it goes. 🙏🏼
4 sheets of square paper of different colours, all the same size. Paper used: 15 x 15 cm standard origami paper Final model size: 5 x 5 x 8 cm (Approx.)
I recommend using thicker paper that has some texture or metallic coating for the nicest result.

This origami pot was made specifically for the mini origami pot plants 🪴. The little plants actually waited about a year for this pot, hope those plants think it's worth the wait..
I filmed this twice because the first time, the footage got corrupted, and this second time, I couldn't see as I was folding the grid at the start (I blame the lights). But it ended up being a chill kind of video, I didn't speed any of it up so people can probably fold along, instead of pausing constantly.
Hope you like the pot and thanks for sticking around! 💗
I recommend using strong paper for this, not weak rippy paper like mine.

Make them into a mini origami book! These origami pockets were made especially for putting tea packets inside. You can write messages, add money or gift cards. No glue required!
Who likes tea? I'm not too keen on tea. 😅 But, I know a LOT of people who love it, you could make a pretty cool handmade gift by selecting different teas and making a "tea gift book" - yep, I did just make that up....
Other things to do with them: write "Merry Christmas" in them and give to people. Or use them as gift tags on Christmas presents, or.. pop some money in them, or make a book of redeemable chores.
❗️ EDIT: The clip at the end got replaced with something from earlier, it's meant to show the two last flaps of the book spine slot into the inner cover flaps.. hope that most people worked that out.. no one left a comment and its been more than a year... 😊

#origami #christmas #diyOrigami Christmas Tree Tutorial - DIY - Paper KawaiiPaper Kawaii - Origami Tutorials2019-12-02 | Learn how to make an origami Christmas tree using 1 sheet of paper. This little paper tree can sit in a pot, decorate with a star on top or other kinds of Xmas decorations.
This origami tree uses the accordion folding technique. It's a bit fiddly but hopefully it's worth the challenge. I recommend using the thinnest, but strongest paper you can find. Normal origami paper will work fine, but I wouldn't recommend using paper any smaller than A4 or US letter paper.
I haven't tried to use US Letter paper but I'm sure it would be fine, you just might end up with a longer "trunk". Yes you can use glue to make things easier at the end, no one will ever know!
It's rated 4 stars, so that means it's a bit harder than my regular tutorials, but you could always use bigger paper, even though.. it might not work as nicely.
1 sheet of rectangular paper for the tree I used A4 (21 x 29.7cm) or use US letter paper.
Please use THIN paper, not thick paper, thick paper will be very hard to work with and would probably rip. Thin but strong paper, like origami paper would be best. I used horrible soft paper in the video and it's so easy to rip it. 1 sheet of square paper for the pot (10 x 10 cm) 1 sheet of rectangular paper for the soil 1 strip of paper for the lucky star (1.5 x 1.5cm)

It will spin in both directions! Made from 1 sheet of square paper, no glue or cutting required. They make really nice hanging decorations & even earrings.
The pinwheel on the back is the inverse colour of the one on the other side.
I designed this model some time last year, it has been sitting amongst other experiments, as it was pretty tricky to fold it again and work out the best method. Hopefully other people find it appealing too. I just like it for a decoration.
I can imagine making some earrings of these, or a paper garland, Christmas tree decorations etc. They spin around really well too, in both directions seeing as there are two pinwheels there.

#origami #pinwheel #diyOrigami Spice Boxes Tutorial - Stacking Box - Paper KawaiiPaper Kawaii - Origami Tutorials2019-08-14 | How to make a DIY set of origami boxes that slot together. Use them as stacking spice boxes or tea boxes. Each origami box is made from 1 sheet, no glue required. Makes a great gift box or useful organisation for stationery or jewellery!
The design of this box uses a well known twisting method. This design actually came to me in a dream, it was not a nice dream.. a stressful dream. Anyway, hope you enjoy these stacking boxes.
I think these would make a nice gift box for tea bags, You'd need slightly larger paper than what I used, perhaps with 30 x 30cm it would be big enough depending on the tea packets.
Thick paper is good for this but thin paper works very well also, because the inner rim of the box will start to buckle inwards with thick paper, so do not use card.
The lids... I show an alternative method at the end for the pinwheel design on top, but that was just me messing around with it at the end, sorry if the extra lid was not that clear, you basically make each of the corners into half a fish base. And then slot them all inwards..
If you are wondering about the music or lack of music... You can listen to the music I would have included here: soundcloud.com/paperkawaii if you like 🙂

🔇 No you haven't gone deaf, there is no music, just the sound of the paper being folded and some birds chirping now and then. Let me know which you prefer in the comments please, music or folding sounds.
Some people have suggested using it as a spice box. Also thanks to those of you on Instagram, facebook and discord who gave me name suggestions! Honeycomb was suggested by multiple people.
The inner boxes are made so that the color and design is on the inside rather than outside. If any of making the inner boxes was unclear in this video, check out the original ones first, might help.
This video took soooo long to make, not sure why, it was just really annoying actually... It has prevented me from continuing on with other models so I'm very happy it's now done, even if... it probably won't be that popular..

Paper used: A4 - 29.7 x 21 cm Final model size: 8.5 x 8.5 x 3+ cm
If your paper is thick you'll need to make the paper you use for the lower box a little shorter, 1 cm is what I took off. You can also just fold this over instead of cutting, which would actually make the raw edge of the side nice too.
The height of the box can be decided whilst folding.

#origami #box #diyOrigami Hexagonal Gift Box Tutorial - 1 Sheet DIY - Paper KawaiiPaper Kawaii - Origami Tutorials2019-06-19 | Learn how to make a hexagonal origami box from 1 sheet of paper, no glue required. These pretty origami gift boxes can have either a hexagon or star shape on the top.
These origami boxes use a well known twisting method in order to collapse, this one is based on an envelope that I created 4 years ago (youtube.com/watch?v=QZ7jFayG8Z0)...I was always hoping to combine this pattern with a twist box.
A 5, 7 & 8 sided version is also possible. I think I will only make a tutorial for the 7 & 8 sided one. 8 sided one will be posted next.
I really like the shape of the star on top but you can also leave it as a hexagon, or create other variations, I have one here that looks like petals.
In order to create a sturdier box (if using thinner paper or something), at 6:00 you could fold up in thirds, so that when you slot the two ends together, the rim of the lid is sturdier. The same thing can be done with the lower box. If using thick paper or card, it's not necessary in my opinion anyway.
- - - - - - - - - - - - You Will Need - - - - - - - - - - - -
1 sheet of paper Paper used: 21 x 29.7 cm (A4) Final model size: 8.5 x 8.5 x 4.5 cm
As mentioned in the video, you can make the height of the box and lid whatever you like by folding or trimming the paper to your needs.
If you are using really thick paper or card, the length of the paper should be a tiny bit shorter. You can simply fold a tiny bit over before measuring 7ths at the start.

I hope you enjoy making this origami box. It took me quite a while to be happy with how the lid fits. It's not a very secure lid, but I think it's as good as it can be.
If you want to avoid trimming the paper to a hexagon, use thin paper. I prefer using regular or thick paper, especially if making a larger one.
So if you refuse to use scissors, even when none are required during the folding sequence, just use thin paper.

Hope you like this origami box design. I have to say I struggled to film this video, and edit it. I made (quite a big) mistake, which you'll see in the video and hopefully you can find it funny and not too annoying.
The box is octagonal, I'm pretty sure a hexagonal version would be possible too.
You can use red and white paper, or other colours for the different kinds of pokeballs. The paper you use will need to have a white side on the back though.
This origami box using one colour and without any black decoration can be made without glue, this version is simply a fun pokeball version. Die hard 'no glue in origami' fans please follow a different tutorial. Well actually, you could make it with one sheet, and after it's done you could paint it.

#origami #origamiplant #diyRound Origami Pot Tutorial - Cup / Vase - Paper KawaiiPaper Kawaii - Origami Tutorials2019-02-24 | Learn how to make a pretty rounded origami pot, cup or vase! This origami pot can be tall or short & is made from 1 sheet of square paper, no glue or cutting is required.
Timestamps: Short pot: 0:34 - Tall Pot: 12:52
This origami pot is not truly round, it's octagonal, the pleated design makes it seem quite round, especially when using thicker paper.
I recommend using thick paper, but it will work nicely with any kind.
There are two versions included in this tutorial, the first is a short, wide pot. The second is the tall, thin pot.
You could make lots of size variations of this by folding to different points (like at 12:58).
To make a lid, just use slightly larger paper. about 1 cm smaller (for example 21 x 21cm for lid, and 20 x 20 cm for box).
In the photos, one has another inside it (blue and pink), the one inside was folded backwards, if that makes sense!

This origami ring is easy to make & is a perfect gift for Valentine's Day, anniversaries, Mother's Day & birthdays! 💍💗
I hope you enjoy making this origami ring!
The only thing that makes this origami ring tricky is the size, so if you have any trouble folding it, try making a larger one first, just so you can work it out.
Thin paper works best, it will not work with thick paper, especially if you're making one to wear!

These 3d origami hearts are perfect for Valentine's Day which is coming up soon!
Officially this would fall under 'kirigami' however these are listed as origami in multiple books and many places online.
I suppose you could leave the points of the heart un-trimmed and they would still look like hearts.
I also think these look like croissants or fortune cookies!

#origami #paper #heartOrigami Numbers Tutorial - 2019 New Year - Paper KawaiiPaper Kawaii - Origami Tutorials2018-12-17 | Learn how to make some cool modular 3D origami numbers! Download and printout free templates of these origami numbers, create a fun 2019 to celebrate the new year! 2️⃣0️⃣1️⃣9️⃣
2. Print the PDF ending with '02-positive' onto the paper you want the numbers to be.
3. Print the PDF ending with '03-negative' onto the paper you want the negative space to be.
Included in the download folder is the templates for the small numbers and also full page templates if you'd like to make a large version!
So far I have just the numbers 2019 available, I am creating templates for all the other numbers and letters. You can also work it out yourself if you want to!
For mine I used standard printer paper. For the larger ones I would think thick paper or thin card would work well.
It's best to use two colors of paper that are contrasting. Keep in mind what the numbers will be displayed in front of. For example if you plan to display them on a black shelf, a dark color would be good for the 'negative space' and a bright light color for the numbers.
Glue is not required for these origami numbers, you can glue them together if you want?

This modular origami box is easy to make, using 4 sheets of square paper. This video also includes the fancy flipped rim variation.
This version is actually easier to make than the infinity version. The inside of the lid is also nicer in my opinion!
You can make this pinwheel flower variation without the fancy flipped rim, just check out the regular version here: youtube.com/watch?v=uKw60-jYYvA - fold that instead from [7:08 to 8:27] - then fold this flower lid from 3:32
Hope you like this variation of my modular origami lid. I never understood why anyone wanted to make modular origami boxes, it seems better just to use one sheet. That was until I needed a larger, sturdier box.
I recommend medium weight, thicker paper for these boxes. 20 x 20 cm makes a really nice sized box as well.

#diy #halloween #papercraftEasy Paper Ball Decoration Tutorial - DIY - Paper KawaiiPaper Kawaii - Origami Tutorials2018-10-22 | Learn how to make a kirigami globe decoration. This video shows clearly how to make this paper decoration with 6 strips of paper, no glue required.
Quite a few people requested that I remake this tutorial, as for the previous version I used 6 strips of paper, all the same colour.
This time I used strips of different colours so that you can see the placement of the strips more clearly.
I also show where exactly to cut the two ends of the papers by measuring..
If you need to see how to easily get strips of paper from any size sheet of paper, check out the beginning of the previous video here: youtu.be/wTv_bZQkYZc
I recommend using a little bowl to make it easier to assemble the ball. And also thicker paper works best.
I hope those that could not follow my previous tutorial can now complete this kirigami paper ball. 🙂

▸ 6 strips of paper
Paper size example: 1.5 x 29.7 (cut from A4 paper) Using US letter paper will also be fine. If you want to use smaller paper, the height of the strips needs to change. For example if using 20cm, make the strips 1cm tall. The ratio of the strips should be about 1:20 so all you have to do is divide the length of your paper by 20 to work it out.

#diy #papercraft #howtoOrigami Chinese Fancy Dish Tutorial - Paper KawaiiPaper Kawaii - Origami Tutorials2018-10-06 | Learn how to make a pretty Chinese origami dish or box. This traditional origami box uses 2 sheets of square paper to complete.
This origami model requires two sheets of paper, both sheets are folded in the same manner and then the second one is cut into four new pieces.
You can call this kirigami if you want, however it's a traditional design, so if you want to argue this is kirigami, you'd need to go back in time hundreds of years and talk to whomever came up with this in China. 😉

#origami #diy #howtoOrigami Compass Rose Star Tutorial - Paper KawaiiPaper Kawaii - Origami Tutorials2018-09-29 | Make an origami compass rose star! This origami star is made with 1 sheet of square paper. With a flower on the front and a square at the back of the star, it looks nice on both sides.
This star looks like a compass, don't you think? I did not know that the name of the star on a compass is a 'compass rose'! It could also be described as a star flower...
The final result is quite three-dimensional. It would make a very nice hanging decoration.
I wasn't sure if this one is two or three stars (difficulty), what do you guys think?
