After having a strat which would have just been a few seconds slower than a non ultra route I ended up realising that I could keep the finish line loaded and enter it while above, which finally lead to a breakthrough and me discovering this strat.I'm extremely glad that I found this ultra on a track like this. I absolutely love this track and 100% recommend you check it out (and other Metabus tracks aswell, like Banished Keep for example 😉)About the run: I didn't go all out on this run, but I think it's fairly optimized. Maybe there are some strats to improve the ultra or a better shroomspot, but everything else seemed slower to me, so I am satisfied with this run.As a disclaimer, this run was driven on version 1.0 of the track. Since then there have been updates to the track and this particular run does not sync on the latest version (v1.1.2.1 at the time of uploading). Shortly after finishing the run, the track got updated. On the latest version (v1.4.1) this run desyncs at around 20 seconds, however, I simply could not be bothered to completely start over. I believe that a run on the latest version would not be much slower or faster, so I am fine with having this on an outdated version.When I initially started working on this run there were 2 super cool shortcuts, the small corner cut I later perform with a wallclip (there used to be a trickable roof there) and the huge shroomspot which I show off at the end. Both of them have sadly been removed, making the track more fair to play but unfortunately, less exciting for me. Regardless, this is still one of the best custom tracks ever created.About the run:I am pretty satisfied with this to be honest. No doubt there will be smaller improvements here and there, but for a track with this many routes and strats (a lot of which were significantly slower so I didnt bother showing them) I am happy to have found what I believe to be the most optimal route. And considering I went back and restarted the entire run due to updates to the track twice, I think I'm also quite happy with the level of optimization.I recommend watching Metabus's videos on the track, especially the shortcut showcase. So yes, it's confirmed, you can actually expect more than a single TAS from me this year!I think this track is very unique among 'castle'-like tracks and since version 2.0 I think it also plays really well. So I personally hope that this track gets added to CTGP at some point in the future.About the run: I don't doubt that there is still more room for improvements, possibly even shown by the first bonus clip. But I just felt done with this track , and had I gone back to the first 6 seconds of the run I simply would have never finished it. Regardless, I am still very happy with how the run turned out, and I think it looks especially cool. After first having some alright attempts at 150cc I switched to 200cc mainly to prove that this glitch is possible at all. And just as I was about to finish a run Justin pulled off the glitch before me, so huge shoutouts to Justin! However, I still decided to improve this run further so I would have a presentable run. And I will continue to try to make this glitch 150cc viable.This run still has quite a lot of room for improvement. For example, I am almost certain that you can manage to get back to the required CP without having to respawn. Although that would be quite difficult with the current angle that allows for the big jump to be done without slowing down. So maybe taking the first wallclip slower and trying this from a different angle could be beneficial. A slight bit of time was also saved by clipping a little bit further to the right on the 2nd clip and getting a lower clip overall.I'm not sure as to if the run can still be improved. I think in terms of optimizing it is really solid, but there might be some other strats. Dylan (DwainumB) has been theorizing a few strats, but I wasnt able to get any of them/make them faster. So unless proven otherwise, I would say this is a very good Flap.I am still working on a 3 Lap run that uses the Flap strat.
