Four-year-old Weekend Lover was killed at Geelong Racecourse on 25 September. He was first put on the racetrack when he was two years old. In his short life, Weekend Lover endured 17 races. An additional 12 trials and jump-outs plus a warning for being fractious at the barriers, are a strong indication that he didn’t cope well with a life in racing and did not consent to putting his life at stake for gambling and entertainment.
