The Junior National Council (JNC) officially opens the first session of its fourth term on 31 August 2026.
This year’s session focuses on universal access to water, sanitation and hygiene for every Namibian child.
Prime Minister Dr Elijah Tjitunga Ngurare will deliver the keynote address at the opening, after which JNC members elect their leadership, including a chairperson, vice-chairperson and chief whip.
Forty-two young representatives, selected from Grade 9 to Grade 11 learners across the country, make up the Junior National Council.
