GameLightzUPDATE: For the new metal shipping-crate skins, you need an HQM size gap for those skins. So I'd just keep the pixelgap unskinned.
EXTRA VIDEO: Here's a guide on how to integrate pixelgap bunkers into bases: youtu.be/ati1qwQq0_8
IMPORTANT TIP: Practice clipping the triangles together. It's the only place the method can fail, and takes a bit more precision with larger gaps. You generally know you did it right when the second triangle sticks into the first, but your character model can still take another tiny step sideways, with the triangle not turning red. Do it a few times and you'll get a feel for it. Well worth the practice.

UNLOOTABLE PIXEL BUNKERS: To be as cost efficient as possible, Rust bases, especially solo bases, duo bases, and trio bases, need to use rust building tricks specifically designed to create "bunkers" where players can keep their loot hidden from offline raids, and usually protected behind a sheet metal or hqm wall, which are both stronger than any rust door.
In this Rust building guide I showcase new methods, easy, fast, and reliable, to create horizontal pixel gap bunkers, as well as thoroughly explain how and why they work (Up to a point. Perhaps we'll go deep dive into Rust's tolerance system at some point).
Personally, I prefer using the tightest, least detectable pixelgaps, as they've served me extremely well (For a year now, I've built ONLY my "Grail" solo/duo base, and never once did anyone get my loot in an offline raid), but it's good to have options.
EXTRA TIP: With the building knowledge acquired here, I can also tell you that what the roof does in Gabe's method is, much like my method, limit you to a specific gap size. However, knowing what we now know, if you really like the roof method, it can be somewhat refined: 1) walk straight into the roof 2) crouch and place a triangle foundation 3) cross over (no jump) 5) crouch and clip the second triangle into the first. You should THEORETICALLY always get a 83 size gap, and with the advantage of being crouched when clipping the foundations, for maximum accuracy, but be aware not to distance from the roof or wait there too long as that will reintroduce the issues inherent in just crossing foundations strafing.

In the previous upload, I say "bottom right" when I should say "bottom left" at some point, and despite having the graphics indicate the correct placement, in order to 100% avoid confusion, I reuploaded. This was an unfortunate side-effect of having to re-record most of the video because of the disconnectable-TC patch.
Yes it's bad for the "channel" and the "video" but it's good for THE AUDIENCE, so the decision is obvious. I WOULD appreciate the support though, by way of comments etc. For sure. Blessed Be.
The Throne 2 - Welcome to the Most Cost-Effective Complete Solo/Duo Base I could make.
This is a high-tech, modern Rust Solo or Duo Base. This base incorporates many building tricks, such as pixel gaps and vending-machine bunkers, to thwart offline raiders. You may get raided, but you will never be taken out of the wipe if you use the bunkers to store loot when going offline. Includes flank bases, widegap shooting floors, mobility chutes, bedrooms on ground level and in the shooting floor, roof peeks, and more.
CONSOLE COMPATIBILITY NOTE: Don't close the TC bunker immediately, as you probably cannot upgrade the inside walls through the gap. Leave it open and close after fully upgraded. ______________________________________

I've used it in the past as an anti-griefing mechanism for my external TCs, so it came to mind readily.
KEEP IN MIND that you don't have to use foundations for the out-connection, but rather floating frames etc, meaning you can still fit widegap foundations in almost every situation.

It solves many of the problems I had with solo/duo/trio base shooting floors while making my bases cheaper.
This is a way to get a very quick basic shooting floor to control your area without compromising the strength of the core base by using windows/doors instead of walls, and then, when/if you want to, you can invest in actual widegaps on top of that. In addition, you're afforded a lot more creativity since you don't have to close up a shooting floor with window frames and ceilings, and you get all the functionality of widegaps and even more, for cheaper.

With something BETTER. youtu.be/voNvQfE9I94?si=M6mX_CXqIrzZBSB9
Every strong rust base needs bunkers for offline protection. Especially a solo base, a duo base, or a trio base. Larger groups too, potentially.
In this video I show how I start every base I build when I play Rust. The technique is used to seed pixel bunkers into the base, which can then be brought forth within the base core, as bunkered external TCs, and even as bunkered widegaps and shells.
In this Rust building tutorial I use a 2x2 base as an example, but, again, I use this technique, albeit with differing build orders, on any base footprint I mean to build in the wipe.
Note also that the build order I use in this video can be altered if you understand what you're doing. You can very easily get a TC down and closed in earlier on, but I show a build order which I thought would be the simplest to follow and with the least room for potential error.
If anything remains unclear, ask me in the comments, or better yet, come to my discord, link below.

They connect aesthetically and cheaply to any base (none of that hideous widegap-buildback), though can also be used with external TCs.
They are fantastic for multi-tc shell bases, where the messy double-back widegap connections can be completely avoided, making for a much cleaner and cheaper base.
And of course, great credit and kudos to the master builders like Skr_t, Patricko, and Pine, for pioneering and advancing the freehand peek tech. For we stand on the shoulders of giants.

This is a high-tech, modern Rust Solo Base, which can also be used as a Duo Base. This base incorporates many building tricks, including pixel gaps, offset bunkers, and even vending-machine bunkers, to thwart offline raiders. You may get raided, but you will never be taken out of the wipe if you use the bunkers to store loot when going offline. In addition it boasts a beautiful full widegap shooting floor, raid-defense bedrooms where you can spawn to instantly be at the roof peeks and shooting-floor retake peeks, a clean, turret protected roof, and a minicopter garage.
But what makes this Rust Solo Base unique, is that it will do it for much cheaper than any comparable alternative. And, optionally, it can be expanded (at any time) with a sleek Funnel Wall Mini-Compound, which I also show how to build in the tutorial.
______________________________________ PRO TIPS (BUT JUST THE TIPS):
1) IN CASE YOU HAVE ISSUES WITH THE SECOND FLOOR PIXELGAP:
Hold left-alt while pixelgapping to make sure you don't have random micro mouse movement when clicking etc, if you think you might and the technique doesn't work. This problem is a result of inaccuracy in the very beginning, when pixelgapping. So again, hold left-alt when you do it, to prevent rotational micro-movements and be very deliberate about sticking the second triangle as deeply as possible into the first.

In Rust, especially as a solo, duo, or trio, you need every advantage you can get, and use every Rust building trick you can learn, so as to avoid the inevitable offline raid coming to ruin your fun. Luckily, we can insure ourselves against the offline raid meta by learning some very simple Rust building tricks, which I show in my tutorials.
In this Rust building tutorial I show how to make the Holy Grail of Rust bunkers, a fully sealed single triangle bunker. This bunker can be expanded upon to make external TCs, Rust vending machine shop bunkers, or be incorporated into bases, as I do in my rust base building guides.

Sure they might take some trash from the bait floors, but out loot is split between multiple bunkers when going offline, so we'd be there next day, wreaking terrible vengence. Or just playing the wipe and chilling like nothing happened.
No compound because (I think) compounds suck. Instead we have a 'compound' made of turrets surrounding the base. We close these to prevent griefing when offline (though they can be opened with door controllers even then, if I can be bothered to set it up). Large furnaces were patched out of rust with the addition of electric furnaces, and I'd always build a furnace base anyway.
An off-the-cuff, unscripted video since I'm on a bit of a vacation :) But new technique videos and base builds coming up next week, no worries.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: The bunkered external TCs no longer work, so make regular ones, or freehand bunkers, or my newer pixelgapped externals. Good luck! :)
This base is an expansion of the BEST Solo/Duo base, the Grail (original), and this video is the full base build tutorial/guide for the best duo/trio Rust base. It's not a simple rust base, but there's none as cost-efficient and survivable.
*** WHAT DOES THE GRAIL V2 DUO/TRIO BASE GIVE ME? ***
1) NEVER GET WIPED BY OFFLINERS. You have 9 bunkers. Spread your loot wisely and you'll always have what you need to continue like nothing happened, even if offlined. The esimated raid cost of 70+ rockets is for a full raid of all lootrooms (including bunkers and main TC) but that's lowballing it maybe. The main core is ~60 by itself, and there's 6 more bunkers outside of that, and also not counting bedroom and gatehouse storage loot. So just spread it around. An offline may rob you of a little bit of loot, but you'll be right as rain next day.
2) DOMINATE YOUR AREA. You have a mini-china-wall designed like a shooting floor, meaning that you have at least 2 peeks for every point outside the compound. But usually many more.
3) FARM LESS. This base is significantly cheaper than any base of even remotely comparable strength, and that's theoretical, because there are no duo/trio bases of comparable strength excepting my Trio Heaven.
4) EASY AND FUN ONLINE DEFENSE. You have 6 double bedrooms (2 beds + locker) divided between mini-china-sall compound and base. It will take great concerted effort to stop you from respawning in safety, with kits, and defending your base.
5) UPDATES TO THE ORIGINAL GRAIL If you don't want the mini-china-wall and added cost, using this as (the best) solo/duo base, there are still important improvements over the original Grail that are worth your time. There are also updates to the build which were forced by FACEPUNCH changing how some things work.
1) If the TC pixelbunker doesn't show up, try building it from the left triangle instead of the right one. Also reverse the order of the second TC pixelgap layer (build the two halfwalls standing on the middle triangle, adjacent the first tc gap, then destroy the lower one, step out, and rebuild it from the outside.)
2) I ALWAYS, ALWAYS HQM my first external TC (just the bunker part, not the stone doors part). This is critical because of a trick I found where you can grief multi-tc bases very cheaply (check my channel, u'll find it).
3) For further upgrades than shown, start with the shooting floor supports, platforms, and window frames. You can also add stone frames under the shooting floor bedrooms just to make sure those are safer against collapse.
4) Want a much cheaper base that's nearly as strong? Omit the china-wall :) This base will still be a monster with just the two gatehouse bedrooms with their turret pods and high stone walls around that.
5) You can pixel-gap the TC immediately, if you don't honeycomb the TC triangle and just make the second floor lootroom on "hanging" triangles. Just upgrade them to metal. Honeycomb when you have 50 hqm for the TC walls :)

These are mostly suited for rust solo bases, duo bases, and more casual base designs where you don't want to be farming upkeep all day for expensive shooting floor solutions (such as widegaps). They're also interesting for compound gatehouses, raid towers, raid defense, and very cheap area-control in general.

A strong rust base needs to have lots of little rusty building tricks - That's if you want to survive the offline raid. This bunker is my favorite, and I add it to all my new rust base designs, especially my solo, duo, and trio bases. For smaller rust bases, QoL is less important than having a base that's strong and cheap, and I can't think of many rust bunkers cheaper than this one. If you want strong Rust base that's silly-levels of cheap, while also being completely fully featured, including widegap shooting floors, roof peeks, pixel bunkers, offset bunkers, raid defense bedrooms, this is it. All the rust building tricks used here allow for a uniquely efficient rust base.
We use it as a trio base too, which works just fine, or as an anchor to our Rust village. So even going beyond duo, it's the best Rust trio base I use now. Trio Heaven is stronger and arguably just as cost-efficient, but I like a cheap Rust base to live in, as I'm no farmer.
Unfortunately for Rust Console Version players, the pixel bunkers do not work on console (yet), so you'll have to turn those into regular lootrooms (still very strong)
Practice on Rusticated Sandbox before building in wipe. That's very important with advanced bases.
UPKEEP: ~5.3k Metal ~5.6k Stone ~53 HQM
BUILD COST (Building blocks & doors only) ~29k Metal ~31k STONE ~240 HQM
* If you're having trouble pixelgapping in the beginning of the build, make sure that: 1) you don't look too much down when placing the first 2 triangles. You have to look relatively straight. 2) you really need to push the second triangle as deep into the first as possible
* The 60 rocket estimate is using only rockets and NOT INCLUDING compound, turrets, the external bunkers, which will add 20+ rockets to the cost. That said, the external bunkers are an INTEGRAL part of the build, and saved our loot in the wipe more than once. Some paths are more expensive, some are cheaper. The cheaper paths require extensive building knowledge, and will still be a bet (since you have so many places to hide loot, it's a bit of a guessing game for raiders sometimes).
* In the video I fail to explain how disconnectables work properly. You must have 2 halfwalls, and not a single wall, on the side of it where you place the twig roof to disconnect :) My bad.
* We tend to keep the bottom core EMPTY of loot, as people often raid straight into it. We had one group use over 40 rockets on the core and get 3 clatter masks in return. As with most of my bases, think of the core as a rocket sponge.
* We ALWAYS HQM the first external TC in the wipe, eventually. Just the external compartment itself, not the TC connection frames. It's good for storage, but also because of the "One TC To Rule Them All" issue, explained in my video here: youtu.be/zBn_-TYI0Rc . Alternatively, if you're a solid builder and can figure it out, you can make the externals "Mini Chad Shed V2s" to have 2 full little 15 rocket bases there at almost no HQM Cost. Check out that video here: youtu.be/dCIFkPPdYiA
* Top-down should be cheapest (as in most bases), but by the time in the wipe where people viably have 60ish rockets, you should be easily able to hqm the top (it's a few triangles, so very cheap anyway).
* All the optional upgrades (towards the end of the video) are VERY good to have as you continue towards the end of the wipe. This base is very good at keeping up with the wipe, in terms of possible upgrades, so make good use of your materials.
* Be diligent about removing bunker-access-deployables when going offline. The bunkers are unlootable, but can be griefed if you make them accessable to raiders.
* Vending Machine TC Method: youtu.be/5Goa8pUMabU ______________________________________The Best BOAT BASE [2 Hyper-Efficient Variations] - Rust Building TutorialGameLightz2022-09-11 | I made a typo with the build cost of the first base :) It's nowhere close to 1.2k metal :)))))
Now, In Rust, you usually want a boat base almost immediately, to get those randomly spawning boats to safety. This is a Rust base design tutorial showcasing 2 variations of Boat bases I use. These boat bases are designed to be as cheap as possible in the game, while still having enough space for 3 boats, which is my minimum. and really, only requirement from a boat base. I don't need my boat base to be a flank base with multiple lockers, beds, and all (though this is possible here). I just want it to be easy to build and very cheap.
This Rust base design tutorial happily applies both to Rust on PC and Rust Console Version. Enjoy!

The only boat bases I ever use.
What you really want from a boat base is: 1) SUPER FAST AND CHEAP to make (so I can have one within minutes of wipe) 2) Hold MULTIPLE BOATS (so I don't have to mess with it later) 3) Work flawlessly with DOUBLE DOORS (early wipe no BPs)
These do all that. And a bit more. Not much more, because they're just boat bases. Stay grounded!

They connect aesthetically and cheaply to any base (none of that hideous widegap-buildback), though can also be used with external TCs.
This video shows only the basic offset method which provides, mostly, for off-center peeks. The goal was to present the basic method, and show what you can do using only that method. In the next videos of the series I'll show more footprint-specific solutions.

IF THIS DOESN'T WORK FOR YOU:
1) If you can't place the corner square (my first example) try doing the same except turning right, instead of left, from the freehanded square.
2) UNEVEN TERRAIN: This method will work great if terrain is even, or if your buildout goes towards lower terrain. IF, however, you have to place the freehanded square on a large upwards slope or significantly higher terrain than the rest of the base, sometimes it'll be a bit too close to the base to work, and you'll have to actually take a little step forward instead of a tiny step back.
I'm sure you'll figure it out.

WHEN doing the freehanding, NEVER omit the twig "guide" foundations. In fact, just upgrade them after you're done. The most common error for people building this base, is to remove them too early or forget them, which may cause honeycomb to be unbuildable. This only happened to me once, which is why I know about the guide foundations. DONT FORGET THE TWIG GUIDES !!!!

Q/A: (I probably forgot something, I'll go by whatever questions get posted in comments)
("Do I really have to do the halfwall decoy thing? ") No, you can do the same with a random doorframe inside your gatehouse or something, provided it's close enough to the core to extend priv over it. So long as it's behind a door and not easily accessible it'll do the job. I'm just demonstrating a concept. You can take the ide and develop it.
("Why release this information? Isn't it a bit game-breaking?") * I waited on releasing this information until seeing that a lot of people already figured it out. Since I don't think it's fair for a few to have a completely unfair advantage, and since I'd hate to have some player wake up to a griefed base, thinking his external TCs should have worked and not understanding what's going on, I think it's best to put this information out there, and more clever people than me can come up with multiple ways to get around it.
("Why not just hit the external TC compartment?") *It's only the oldest building block that is close enough to the core to extend a priv bubble to it, AND has a TC upkeeping it, that matters. The actual external TC compartment will be well outside of range of the core to extend a build-priv bubble around it. Also, people will sometimes set up the external TCs ahead of time, for area control, and only then build the arms, and not necessarily by order of external TC setup.
(Do I have to hit blocks with a torch?) * You can hit blocks from a distance with guns/bows to get ID too, of course. It's really effortless in almost all situations to use this exploit (or rather, core rust mechanic).
(How can I tell for sure that I know which TC to take over?) *Hit more than just 3 blocks, as I do in the video. And try hitting the blocks closest to the core, even inside the compound if possible. As mentioned, you can easily do this with a bow. If you see that, consistently, one TC extension has the lowest ID numbers, it's surely the TC to take.
(What if I build the extensions in a haphazard way, one block from one external, one block from another, so that it's very difficult to tell which is the oldest?) * Building the extensions (from externals to core) in a non-organized way (as in, building a block here, then a block there, etc) will perhaps confuse raiders trying to find the oldest blocks, BUT it also makes sure there's an "oldest block within TC priv" coming off of ALL external TCs, and so, in most cases, no matter which external TC they take over, they will have partial auth to the core, including the ability to close the raid and grief the base. So generally, don't do that, unless you tested it with your design and found that it works.
(Are there other solutions except decoys and stronger TCs?) *Yes! In my old "Complete Guide to Wallstacking" Video I show a concept for a 3-way-satori-disconnectable. Basically a TC compartment that has disconnectable arms leading towards the core, as well as towards its two neighbouring external TCs. That is probably the most odd but "elegant" solution. Hm. Well I guess there's no real elegance when it comes to this issue.
(What about vertical TC priv? Will that little halfwall cover a very tall base?) * Its rather impossible to "bury" and hide widegap support frames, so keep that in mind for very tall bases (usually 5 floors high or more). That said, it's impossible to actually place a new TC in the core without taking out ALL external TCs, so it shouldn't really matter. The other externals, with widegaps, will extend their own protection to the roof where the buried halfwall does not. But you can, of course, bury a frame too (higher).
(Why are you making it 15 rockets to get TC when I can simply disconnect the TC for 8?) * It's fine to have 15 rocket TC compartments with 8 rocket disconnection cost, since at that point raiders are forced to destroy all TC connections for core auth. In the end, the costs even out. But if you see an urgent need to have 16 rocket disconnection mechanisms too, be my guest. Just be aware that HQMing only the TC compartment is already 100hqm or so, with upkeep on top. Definitely not for me. :)
(Do I really need to build a 15 rocket external TC?) *No. You Do You :)The Ridiculous Open-Air Bunker (Console Friendly - Read Description)GameLightz2022-01-29 | #Rust #Bunker #OP
IMPORTANT UPDATE: READ PINNED COMMENT! :)
RUST CONSOLE PLAYERS: You can't do this with triangle roofs yet. You'll need to use a regular roof piece on a square foundation to open the wall.
An oldie but a goody. An ultra-cheap vending-machine bunker that can be spammed endlessly in compounds, on roofs, anywhere really.
As mentioned in the video, I'm sick, so instead of my usual long and hard-to-produce videos, I'll be doing one or two "quickies" until I get better, as I don't want to make "higher profile" vids with a cracked throat.
There are multiple ways of getting it harder to soft-side (and get the loot), such as floor-stacking, building it where 2 TC buildouts meet (core and external TC), so you can make an overlapping ceiling that doesn't connect to the bunker wall, the self-contained way I show in the video, and probably many more. I didn't invest enough time into testing everything, because I've mostly been in bed with a fever, but I'd absolutely love to be shown new and improved methods :)
Special thanks to Rodent, for showing me how to get the VMs tighter against the wall :) Visit his channel, he's very interesting: youtube.com/c/therodentontop

Disclaimer: The 50 rocket cost is "youtube base meta" raid cost. Meaning, using only rockets, but also ignoring compound and turrets (so it balances out). And I know of 2 ways to raid this base for under 50 rockets. I still rate it at 50, since those are very, very unlikely to ever happen, since nearly nobody knows them. So we're good :)

No matter how many TCs you add, only one of them is needed for full control of the base. (and no, locks don't matter. I specifically omit locks from the video BECAUSE they don't matter)
This is sometimes a theoretical weakness, given the random element, but if a raider can eliminate the random element, it means your base can be many, many rockets weaker than you thought. ESPECIALLY if you use certain bunkers or windowed loot rooms.
THAT SAID, My bases (specifically, Trio-Heaven, Trio-Dream, Mini-Deathknell, Deathknell2) are immune to the 'opening of bunkers' since I build the bunkers slightly different than most bases. Mine are "outside-in" bunkers while most open-core style bases use "inside-out" bunkers. If you don't know what I mean, no worries. If you do, well, you do.The Empress - Solo/Duo Base [3 Bunkers/Widegaps/Meta Compound, 2022]GameLightz2021-12-18 | Strong Rust Solo Duo Buker Base (2x1 Core) (READ TIPS/INFO BELOW. *** The CORE bunker of the Empress has been patched as of Dec. 2022. That said, it wasn't a very important part of the base, and only served to make door raids more costly early-game. When done, loot should go to the top roof bunkers, and to external mini-bunkers ***

FOR THE NEWEST VERSION OF THIS BASE, Go on Rusticated Sandbox to check it out in person: Rusticated Code: https://rsc.td/YOBO
My design goal for this build was to take the most common, most standard, cheapest form of honeycombed 2x1, and make the absolute best, strongest, most cost-effective, feature packed version of it, within a price range that still makes sense for a 2x1, which is commonly a solo/duo base.
Featuring: • 3 bunkers (main 2x1 bunker against door-path raids + 2 hidden floating roof bunkers) • Unique eKostiK-style compound entrances • Spacious (4 floors high) • Widegap shooting floors • Floating raid-defense bedrooms (well outside of most raid-paths) • Reasonable build cost & Upkeep (Hardest part to get right. Overbuilding is easy. Efficiency is difficult.)

******** Important Tips/Info for the Builder! ********
* A BUG with triangle roofs will cause any box placed in the bottom-left slot of the second floor lootroom to despawn, if the core bunker triangle roof is upgraded to metal. So don't place a box there. Go with repair bench or something you wouldn't mind losing if you forget to take it out.
* PRACTICE THIS BUILD, AND FREEHANDING SPECIFICALLY, on a build server before attempting this, unless you really know what you're doing already.
* The core bunker is meant only to counter door-path raids. It will not accomplish much else. I would put the better loot up in the top bunkers rather than down in main, or preferably, split so you always have something even if you get partially offlined. That, after all, is the only point of building multiple bunkers.
* If you want a tighter widegap on the floating bunkers side, instead of going out 2 squares and a triangle initially, go out 3 halfmoons of triangles and build back with squares. I did the wider version in the version for simplicity and because I like wide widegaps.
* If you want a slightly more HQM expensive but situationally slightly stronger base, instead of the wall that the triangle frame is attached to (the original 2x1 airlock wall), build 2 halfwalls, and ditch the floating triangle frame. This will maintain the bunker for longer when splashed from that side (due to triangle f***g splash f***g bug).
* If you want to drop build/upkeep costs (quite a bit), you can go with 2 regular compound entrances instead of the 4 unique ones in the video.

TO CLARIFY: This is from before they added the "peacekeeper" switch on MLRS. But to balance that out, they did make MLRS take 10 fire arrows to destroy, so goddamn it facepunch, stop adding intern pet projects nobody wants, and get back to the golden age :)
Did you know that you can destroy a samsite with 1 salvaged sword in about a minute, or 11 fire arrows? So indeed, only large groups with huge tall bases with large roofs can sort of protect them.
*Disclaimer* While I do despise the recent changes Facepunch have been making to Rust, which all of them favor off-handed server-killing by Zergs (about 60k sulfur in one hour in large excavator, and completely free of charge griefing of small groups using MLRS), I love FP for making Rust in the first place, as it is my favorite game of all time.
Here's my tip, Facepunch: People don't quit playing rust because they lost a PvP fight. They quit because of offline raiding. Make raiding weaker, make bases stronger, encourage more people staying IN THE GAME for the pvp and wild ride experiences, and you got a winner.

PROS: * Every possible feature you may want in a base for very very cheap, except inner peekdowns, which in my estimation are a pointless resource drain once you have shooting floors like these. * Any raid except a rocket raid on this base is already a loss. With the loot all being in windowed rooms, c4s and door raids are wasted sulfur.
CONS: *Potential wallstack splash vulnerability, but I believe this is covered up in this build as best as it can be, and is very hard to reliably exploit even when recognized. Usually some rockets will miss, and splash damage will end up removing the vulnerability altogether.
If it worries you still, freehanding the triangles is a better solution, but perhaps a bit advanced and not 100% reliable for most people. Still, if you know how to do it, a tight freehanded triangle is better than the slightly bigger gap of a traditional wallstack.
* Probably some more stuff. Nobody's perfect and we improve from one try to the next :) ______________________________________

*All music in this video is written and recorded by me, and is copyrighted. 0:00 - Introduction & Tour (Song: "Major Trouble") 2:45 - Stage 1: Starter Base (Song: "Nature of Connection") 6:18 - Stage 2: Floors 3 & 4, Bedrooms, Honeycomb, Entrance Chutes (Song: "Turntable") 9:47 - Stage 3: Widegapped Defense Modules (Song: "Boward") 13:25 - Stage 4: Floorstacked Roof Bunkers, Roof, Final Honeycomb (Song: "Majnor")
Important Notes: * In the video, I put ceilings on floors only after completing them. That is done purely for cinematic reasons (lighting, aesthetics). There's no reason not to close the ceilings in before completing the floor itself, obviously.
* If you want to build the gatehouse I show as optional in the end of the build, make sure to move the actual TC a step back, so the disconnection mechanism will still function. Brainfart on my end. Personally I wouldn't use those, I would use the pixelbunker gatehouses shown in my pixelbunker gatehouse video, built out from the actual TC enclosures, for a larger compound.
* Make whatever changes you like. If there's something you feel is missing for you, add it. If something feels unnecessary, remove it, if there's something you feel you should upgrade, upgrade it! :) You do you! :)
* Make sure to put build mats and kits in the bunkers when logging off. You'll be playing the day after a raid like nothing happened. I can't tell you how many times this worked for me with my trio base (and for the many others using it).
THE DEATHKNELL MINI Total Upkeep: ~15-17k Frags ~20k Stone ~60-170 HQM (Customizable, depending on upgrade paths)
Build Cost For Completed Version (Including deployables): ~65K frags (Roughly 2 boxes of metal) ~100K Stone (Roughly 3 boxes of stone) ~Variable HQM
PROS: Offline Defense: * 3 floating roof bunkers * 5 walls to core at ground level
Online Defense: * Widegap multi-purpose modules with multiple shooting angles + ramp peeks. Did not spend too much on them, but just enough, I think. * Up to 18 beds in dedicated bedrooms.
General: *Very cheap compared to group bases in the same class: If build cost seems high relative to upkeep, that's because there are 7 TCs. The actual cost is better reflected by the upkeep, as the external TCs will lower overall upkeep to the point where the higher build cost will be covered for within a couple of days. And of course the 7 TCs supply ample grief-protection. * Great for x2 etc. servers. There is much than can still be upgraded, and all upgrades have actual utility in this build. Upgrading the modules, upgrading the shooting floors and roof, all these things are really useful. *There's a ton of room on the roof, you can basically add another floor with no trouble at all, maybe a central tower, whatever you like. *Most of the base is wide open at the center, extremely easy and quick to navigate. For a small group, 3 separate jump ups on the 'living floors (3&4) will prove very convenient. Only the 1st floor core is tight, but it is more the cellar than the living room, so to speak, and intentionally made so to absorb a pummeling. HOWEVER, turn on physics.steps 60 if you're failing the jump from chests onto the shelf in the core.
CONS: * Only 3 bunkers as opposed to 6 in the bigger Deathknell V.2, but then it's not fair to compare a 24k metal base with a 16k metal base. * No inner peeks. There are definitely cutbacks related to budget, things I would have liked to expand on and improve, but I set myself a budget and that is the only feature I felt confident isn't absolutely necessary. * Probably some more stuff. Nobody's perfect and we improve from one try to the next :)
SPECIAL THANKS:
* D1srupted, Atmos4, & WalkerV2 - Who all taught me different concepts related to widegap shooting floors, but also pretty much everything I know about building in Rust. They're the top of the top, the absolute best, especially as human beings, which is the most important.
* Mini-Satori, who first published the disconnectable TC that everyone uses now and which I show in this video, as it's quite simply the best. His original video, on his quite magnificent channel: youtube.com/watch?v=Opl1Yi1dIT0
Master builders such as SytrX, discloak, etc, who all proved themselves to be the nicest, most helpful, and inspiring builders.
* h0und, who's releasing videos again, making the most actually usable bases I've seen on youtube, inspiring me quite a bit. You can still use the bind, but its up to you:)* ALSO, they've effectively removed "physics.steps" as of 3.2.2022, making it an admin-only command :)
3 Rust Console Commands for advantages in every area of the game, from building to PVP and general maneuverability.
For pointer precision in building/looting/etc: client.lookatradius 0.1
For automating different input sensitivity settings for huge advantage in rust PVP: bind mouse1 +attack2;+input.sensitivity .3;input.sensitivity .2
* mouse1 is the "look down the sight" button. * "input.sensitivity .3" is the number set when releasing mouse1 (set it to any number you want) * "input.sensitivity .2" is the number set when holding mouse1 (set it to any number you want)
Become a better jumper, look around faster while being super precise with gunplay, and get more pointer precision when interacting with objects. What's not to love?
I hope these Rust console commands will help you a lot and solve issues in every part of the game. For me these are default, I can't play rust without them.
Good day yaall, have a good one :)How To Build in Rust: WALLSTACKING Vol.1 | How to Build When BlockedGameLightz2021-07-01 | Wallstacking is a Rust building trick/technique allowing you make cheaper rust base designs, to build wallstack shell bases, add roof bunkers, and overall make better rust base builds.
In this video I show how to wallstack/multi-tc even when right up against blocking terrain. Also, a complete* guide to everything wallstacking in Rust. I tried to be as comprehensive as possible, while not going overly into the specifics of base footprints.
There are many well known Rust base designs using multi-stacking for cost-efficiency and offline protection, such as EvilWurst's Waterloo, Concord, Grand Frustrator, the hJune 2x2, or my own Trio Heaven base. Look those up if you want to see specific examples of solo, duo, trio, and group bases making use of this rust building trick in various and different ways. I tend to use wallstacking and multi-tc less for shell bases, and more for for adding bunkers and stacking honeycomb under the upkeep tax.

* Evilwurst does not in any way endorse this build. I just wanted to shout him out after he shouted me out in his last video, because that's how things have to be. And I do think he's the coolest and and my first inspiration as a 'builder' and tremendous help when I was starting to play rust, with his very useful builds. Thank you Evilwurst!
THE DEATHKNELL 2 Total Upkeep: ~22k Frags ~26k Stone ~160 HQM
Build Cost (Not including deployables): ~60K Frags (Essential deployables, such as doors, 30k) ~140K Stone ~650 HQM
PROS:
Offline Defense: * 6 bunkers hidden around the base * 5 walls to core from almost every direction. Getting all loot from bottom floors and bunkers would require around 120 rockets. A perfect offline raid is most effective, but that's not going to happen here. Most of the defenses are geared towards making a standard online raid ineffective. Getting the kits from lockers etc would take a hell of a lot more.
Online Defense: * Ramp/multi-tc gap Inner Peeks * Shooting floor extensions + Ramp Peeks * 3 Flank Bases, each with 6 beds, lockers, 360 shooting floor * Catwalks for fast navigation between flank bases and core. * Total of 36 beds (including 6 beds on the inner peek floor, core bedrooms, and flank bases)
Budget: *Most people I asked what reasonable upkeep would be for a base of this strength gave numbers well in excess (up to and over double) of what I ended up with. This is the most efficient group base I've seen in Rust in terms of cost/protection/usability. * Core TC holds upkeep for 24 hours. More if you upgrade a bit more to metal/hqm.
Upscaling: * EXCELLENT for x2 etc. servers. There is much than can still be upgraded, and all upgrades have actual utility in this build.
CONS: * Does not come with a starter base (have to farm up to complete second floor, from then on you can use it.
* Core maneouverability is lowered with only 1 jump up from core to bedroom floor. This however, is not an issue, since the core is completely closed down in a raid. There is good maneouverability (3 jump ups) for top 2 floors and roof, and excellent maneouverability in shooting floor/flank bases, meaning, where it matters.
Suggestions:
* Disconnectible TC's are a good idea in this base. I didn't include it in the video because I don't want every video to be all videos, but mini-satori's disconnectibles are excellent here)
* If you're concerned about raiders using the catwalks against you, you can add a garage door in there, a turret, or even make the floor out of wood, so that if they try to go through it, they'll be forced to blow it up, or you can prevent them access from that path.
