Here is one of the coolest locks I have seen in a long time! It's a very large (80 mm wide + 14 mm shackle+ 3 pounds) combination padlock. It also has some very tricky and weird features!
I got it from an antique dealer and was told it is at least 50 years old and from somewhere in Europe.
In this video I do analysis on the locks features and show how I was eventually able to crack the lock and find the correct combination using a bit of testing and a bit of luck!

**OPENING OCCURS @8:25**
This U-Lock has a interesting setup where it has 2 Cores~ each with a different function.
They also must be operated in sequence. A then B.
The A core turns the B core on and off. The B core releases the Shackle.
Core A has 5 Pins and Core B has 9 Pins.
Although a cool idea that adds some security, in this video I show you how to pick this lock.

Unpickable? That is up for debate, but this very clever design is sure to confuse most people who would try to pick it!
Even with knowledge of its workings the I do believe this would be a tricky beast to manipulate.

Heres another interesting padlock from the 007 series of padlocks. You can see these also continue the theme of pistol shaped keys, but these are particularly big and are in a circular dimple key design.
There are pins on the top and bottom of the keyway. The top of the keyway has a Tensioning bar at the very front that almost looks like a pin. This bar slides thorough a channel cut down the length of the key.
Not high security, but still highly interesting (at least for me)!

The Forever Lock is now more secure than ever!
We were finally able to get the Forever Lock upgraded to a new Key and new core. The new core uses a 5 slider system with no springs.
This was done to address concerns about bumping and key impressioning which both take advantage of spring pressure on pins.

Heres an awesome and very unique Lock I found recently.
It has a corkscrew key that threads into the keyway and interacts with 4-pins. I love the design~ the keys look and feel so great!
Not sure of the age, but it is definitely not in production anymore.

Heres a really neat vintage lock from 1979 that has two locking cylinders that each require their own specific key.
Both keys have to be inserted and the cores must be rotated simultaneously, so the owners of both keys must be present to operate the lock.
As you can see it looks very similar to a Vachette padlock body and has a similar style locking bar.

Here is an odd little lock from china that is supposedly used to lock up power or utility boxes to help prevent tampering. It uses a magnetic key and has no pins.
I didnt have a strong magnet it try and open the lock, but I did have my trusty screwdriver!
Not a very secure design, but still something new for the collection!
