It’s common knowledge that a shotgun choke(the reduction of bore diameter at the muzzle of a shotgun barrel) increases pattern density. The tighter the choke the tighter the pattern. What about 000 buckshot? The pellets exit the barrel single file. The choke doesn’t compress them against the other shot.
