When I was a kid, we used to stand at the bus stop and the snowy top of Baldy was visible. Now, mind you, this was early 70's and the Everest summit was fresh and new in America. My mom took us to the brand-new Brea Mall, where the Powerflex skater brand has a new to the world, plexiglass half pipe. And there at the demo, the Americans that just got back from their first summit of Everest. They gave us all t-shirts and told us about the climb. The world was a different place back then and there were no cell phones, no internet, etc. So, as a kid, that which we didn't know, we had imaginations that filled in the blanks.
So, my friends and I, thought Baldy was like Everest and oxygen etc was part of the climb here as well. I don't know if Ill ever make it up there again or if there is even any interests but this mountain, like all its neighbors, have played a huge roll in THIS MANS life and brought so many friends into my life. I tough the tress as I pass by, as if they are my friends as well. This night, like many others, was exciting, fun and a learning experience. I passed on more of what I have learned and know with Robert, Dave and the many of you who watch my videos. I guess the sense of adventure we all have as kids, is still as strong in me as it was when I was a kid running the streets! Thanks for watching
