Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater
We’ve already had Metal Gear Solid 4 place at number 81 on our list. Now, Solid Snake and the gang are back, forty-one spots later, with the third installment in the Metal Gear Solid franchise. The Metal Gear Solid series will always hold a special place in my heart, and Snake Eater is my personal favorite of all the games in the series. Whether or not it’s objectively the best, I can’t say, but damn do I love it. Snake Eater gave us new survival mechanics, an absolutely terrific and inspired story, and action-packed gameplay. Seriously, what more could you want? Snake Eater was a huge turning point for Konami and for the franchise, particularly in terms of its story. Snake Eater was the origin story of, (and features as it’s main character), Big Boss. For those that have been around a while, you know Big Boss as the main antagonist of the Metal Gear games prior to Metal Gear Solid, as well as being the reason behind pretty much every arc in Metal Gear Solid’s intricate web of a story.
