Tip 1: Use Drybrushing. This is really nice technique for quickly picking out any details on the minis. You can build up some great colours and blends with this alone. Bonus tip: dampen your dry brush before you use it, the finish will be a lot smoother
Tip 2: Use the right size brush for the job. Painting a big mini is going to be a lot more fun and faster if you use a large brush. Equally using a brush that’s too big can make picking out details without hitting other areas unintentionally difficult.
Tip 3: Use washes for extra definition. You can buy pre-made washes, or make your own by watering down your paints a lot. Wash them all over an area and the paint will naturally sit in the recesses giving even more definition to the details of your mini.
Tip 4: Focus on the key elements of the mini. For Rajang that means the skin, the fur and the horns. Getting these key areas painted will make them stand out on the tabletop without spending countless hours painting every single detail. More time for gaming!
