It can be pretty enticing to respond to our family and friends in MLMs by saying they’re in a pyramid scheme, they’re in a cult, or that they’re in a scam. While these might be true statements, they’re often not the best tools to use if we want to help them see the light and leave their MLM. The purpose of the antimlm movement is to help educate the public on the dangers of MLMs, and to help those who have escaped their MLM.
MLMS have been discussed extensively by cult psychologist Steven Hassan.
