Some may call it glamping but I call it taking advantage of your camper van every chance you get. That means taking advantage of the fact that some of the nicer amenities of your home travel with you at all times. So when you want a coffee break, you just pull off to the side of the road instead of searching for your favorite coffee house.
I use four, compact and relatively inexpensive gadgets to give me a 5-star espresso experience right from my van. The first is the Inissia compact espresso machine from Nespresso. It brews a wonderful espresso in less than a minute and it stows away easily. I pair that with the SealPod reusable capsule. Sealpod lets me use my own brand of coffee in my Nespresso machine - saving me a lot of money. Third, I use a small hand-held milk frother by Knewmart. It's battery operated and whips up frothy milk in less than a minute. Plus, I can use it when I make omelettes in the morning so it serves a dual function - always great in a van. Finally, I shake a bit of cinnamon on the top using one of my 4 magnetic spice tins. These tins are great: they're not too tall but still hold up to 3oz of spices and the tins and rack fit perfectly on the narrow shelf under my sink. Best of all, all the tins magnetically hold to the tray so that while the van is moving nothing tips over.
These 4 items have really upped my coffee game in my van. I can have the same high quality espresso that I love at home while I'm on the move in my van. It makes my van more of a home away from home for my family and guests.
