"Over Tiananmen Rises red sun, Leading us Marching to victory!"
Additionally, at the beginning of the Cultural Revolution, an alternate set of lyrics was also used which invoked the Red Guards:
"We adore Beijing's Tiananmen, Over Tiananmen The sun rises!
