This video looks at the popular spacetime simulator that uses a lycra sheet to develop an understanding of of gravity and spacetime.
It covers the example demonstrations, but importantly, also explores the limitations of this model.
At the end of the video, I show how to make one for yourself.
Errata:
Although there are collisions between primordial planetary bodies in the young solar system , the reason the planets spin in the same direction is due to conservation of angular momentum. Objects are not travelling in opposite directions.
