SHL News Finals Game 2 Dom Dumais 2017-06-12 | youtu.be/DMXBfTrRFoYOn April 27th, the Siam Hockey League had their second game of the finals between Hooters Nana and Sport Corner-Titanium. It was a hard fought game, but in the end, Sport Corner-Titanium took home the cup with a final score of 4-3. The Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game went to Join Heinonen for his hat-trick and his great offensive play through out this one.After the game, Sport Corner-Titanium was awarded the Siam Hockey League's Championship Cup in a presentation by Scott Murray.On May 13, the Siam Hockey League had an awards ceremony in which they handed out individual awards, personalized Team MVP Trophies, and the league trophies.All in all, the Siam Hockey League had a great inaugural season. That doesn't mean it's the end of hockey for the summer, there is still the Bangkok Ice Hockey League, shinny hockey on most Thursday nights, and the Siam Hockey League plans on having a few special events in it's off season.

Finals Game 1 - April 23, 2016 Dom Dumais 2017-04-27 | We started off the night with the presentation of the Johnny Oduya MVP Cup, which was awarded to Donny Kerfoot for his outstanding play throughout the season and in helping to take the Sukhumvit Spitfires from last place to first place.Next, we got our first peak at the Siam Hockey League's Championship Cup, which Hooters Nana and Sport Corner-Titanium will be playing for.Before the game, I had a chance to talk with Justin St. Denis from Hooters Nana and to Mike Wilson from Sport Corner-Titanium about how the season went for their teams, how the semi-finals went for their teams and what they need to do to set the tone in the finals.Things didn't go so well for Hooters Nana in this game as they were handed a devastating loss by Sport Corner-Titanium with a score of 10-1.The Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game went to Zak Garofolo for his two goals and four assists in this one. SHL News Week 12, February 27 - March 05, 2017 Dom Dumais 2017-03-12 | In our first game this week, we had the top two teams, Sport Corner-Titanium and Sukhumvit Spitfires going head to head as well as the two hottest players in the league, Mike Wilson of Sport Corner-Titanium and Donny Kerfoot of Sukhumvit Spitfires, going head-to-head as well.The first period started off well with both teams getting some good scoring opportunities and the play going back and forth. At 10:10 Scott Whitcomb of the Sukhumvit Spitfires scored the first goal of the game with the assist going to Donny Kerfoot. Things started to get a bit physical with a few missed calls, and then Donny was called for bodycheckin. The Sukhumvit Spitfires did a great job of killing off this penalty, and when Donny exited the box, it was like a fire was lit underneath him as he picked up a pass from Garrett Howden, stormed the net, put a move on Gabor Toth and then found the back of the net, putting Sukhumvit Spitfires up 2 nil and that’s the way the scored stood at the end of the first period with the Spitfires having a 10-9 edge in shots on goal.Lance Parker was called for delay of game six minutes into the second period which was served by Scott Murray and Sukhumvit Spitfires again did a great job of killing off this penalty. With 5:25 left in the second period, Scott Murray picked up a pass from Donny and put the puck in the net. With 3:35 left in the second period, Scott Whitcomb was called for hooking, which set up a goal from John “Silky Mitts” Schachnovsky for Sport Corner- Titanium with the assist going to Ang Rattanachot. The end of the second period saw The Spitfires leading Sport Corner-Titanium 3-1, outshooting them 20-19 in the process.At 9:40 of the third period saw Zak Garofolo getting SC-Titanium's second goal of the night with Ang getting his second assist. Later in the third period, D. J. Sherman of SC-Titanium was called for tripping and 35 seconds later Alasdair Fawcett scored for Sukhumvit Spitfires with the assists going to Adrian Meyers and Garrett Howden. The final score of the game was Sukhumvit 4 Sport Corner-Titanium 2 putting the Spitfires one point ahead of Sport Corner - Titanium.The Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game went to Adrian Meyers for his outstanding defensive play, constantly pushing the play forward and his assist on Alasdair's goal.The second game saw Hooters Nana vs. Aware.Early in the first period, we saw Michael White of Hooters Nana streaking through center ice and rifling a shot which pinged off the crossbar, with lots of people thinking it went in, but then Brandon Vick headed back the other way and scored—or at least he thought he did—as did his teammates, but there was no goal. The problem being the refs just didn't see this one go in, which resulted in Hooters Nana earning several scoring opportunities down the other end of the ice while Aware mistakenly celebrated their non-goal, but Hooters couldn't capitalize before Aware finally realized what was going on. With 1:40 left in the period, Andy Brine got the first goal of the game for Hooters Nana with the assist going to Moo Tengsakul. At the end of the first period it was Hooters Nana leading 1-0 with AWARE having an 8-6 lead in shots on net.The first-half of the second period saw Aware controlling most of play and they finally tied it up at 7:45 with a goal from Marcel Bouwens assisted by captain Patrik Lundback. Aware did a great job of killing the interference penalty of Yean Thanakroekkiat at 4:19 and the crosschecking penalty to Christian Olofsson at 1:25. The end of the second period saw the scored tied at one goal apiece with Aware out-shooting Hooters Nana 18 to 13.Eight minutes into the third period, Aware took the lead with a goal by Brandon Vick with the assist going to Christian Olofsson. At 4:15, Sebastian Ranger tied it up for Hooters Nana with assists going to Moo Tengsakul and Gary Cosby, forcing overtime. This was a very anticipated matchup with the top 2 teams in the league facing off against each other as well as the hottest 2 players, Mike Wilson of Sport Corner - Titanium and Donny Kerfoot of Sukhumvit Spitfires, facing off against each other as well. This game had lots of action that went back and forth, and the goalies were very active. At the end of the first period, we saw Sport Corner - Titanium 0 with 9 shots, Sukhumvit Spitfires 2 with 10 shots. John "Silky Mitts" Schachnovsky finally got Sport Corner - Titanium on the board with 3:20 left in the second period. The end of the second period saw Sport Corner - Titanium 1 with 19 shots and Sukhumvit Spitfires 3 with 20 shots. Addiction - DD48 Dom Dumais 2017-03-05 | Dom talks about something that he feels is close to home to him. He decided to talk about addiction. The reason he decided to talk about addiction in this episode is because he made a post on Facebook about addiction, and a person he know/knew was rude to him about that post, so Dom felt he needed to defend himself, so he did. Because of this post, Dom decided to do a short podcast about addiction. The only thing that Dom has really been addicted to would be cigarettes, but when he decided enough was enough, he quit. It wasn't easy, but he quit and didn't look back. Dom feels this is different than the addiction that some of his loved ones have felt in their life. SHL News Preview of Week 12 Dom Dumais 2017-03-04 | The first game this weeks looks to be an exiting game. Not only do we have the top 2 teams, Sport Corner - Titanium and Sukhumvit Spitfires going against each other, we also have the hottest 2 players, Mike Wilson (Sport Corner - Titanium) and Donny Kerfoot (Sukhumvit Spitfires) going against each other. Mike Wilson will be going into this game with 3 Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Games, 20 points (10 goals and 10 assists) in 12 games, Donny Kerfoot 3 Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Games, 18 points (13 goals and 5 assists) in 8 games.To go along with this, the Thai players from the Thai National Hockey team will be returning after their undefeated gold medal win at the 2017 Asian Winter Games and going back to their teams.These looks to be one of the best weeks all around for the Siam Hockey League, and the games should be a lot of fun to watch! SHL News Week 11, February 20 - 26, 2017 Dom Dumais 2017-03-04 | To start this week off, we had some issues. First, at some time during the 25th, The Rink lost power, so the ice had gone a bit soft. To go with that, in the morning of the 26th, the zamboni broke down so the ice couldn't be resurfaced. Besides those two issues, we had some very good games.In our first game we had Sport Corner - Titanium facing off against the Aware. Things looked really good for Sport Corner - Titanium as they had John "Silky Mitts" Schachnovsky back from his family holiday. The Aware were looking to redeem their loss from the week before. At the end of the first period, we saw Sport Corner - Titanium in the lead 2-1. Half way through the second period, Yves Gabriault suffered a lower body injury, but he remained strong and finished out the second period, when he was replaced by Lance Parker. Also in the second period, we saw Aware battle back to tie it up with the score at the end of the second period being 3-3. With just shy of 9 minutes left in the game, we saw Aware take the lead with a goal from Brandon Vick, and Aware held off Sport Corner - Titanium's attempts to tie it back up. The final score of the game was Sport Corner - Titanium 3 Aware 4. The Rolling Stone Pizza of Player of the Game went to Mike Wilson, making it his 3 PoG so far this season, for scoring a hat-trick, and I had a chance to chat with him after the game.Before the start of the second game, SHL had a special ceremony in which they awarded Patrik Lundback a bottle of wine for helping out with coaching the Thai National Hockey team to an undefeated gold medal at the 2017 Asian Winter Games.In the second game we had Hooters Nana facing off against Sukhumvit Spitfires. Things started of great for Hooters Nana with them ending the period ahead 2-1. At the end of the second period, Sukhumvit Spitfires had tied up the game with the score being 3-3. The final period saw Hooters Nana score 1 goal and Sukhumvit Spitfires score 2 goals to make the final score Hooters Nana 4 Sukhumvit Spitfires 5. The Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game went to Donny Kerfoot for his great defensive work in this game as well as scoring 2 goals, with his second goal being an unassisted short handed goal, and I had a chance to catch up with him after the game.Things really look exciting for next week with not only the top 2 teams, Sukhumvit Spitfires and Sport Corner - Titanium facing off against each other, but also the hottest 2 players in Donny Kerfoot and Mike Wilson facing off against each other this week. To go along with that, the Thai Nation Hockey Team players are returning to the SHL after winning and undefeated goal medal at the 2017 Asian Winter Games.This games should be a lot of fun to watch with these everything that's going on. SHL Rolling Stone Player of the Game - Mike Wilson - Week 11 Dom Dumais 2017-03-04 | In our first game this week, we had Sport Corner - Titanium facing off against Aware. This one saw Sport Corner - Titanium take an early lead in the first period. The end of the second period saw things all tied up 3-3. The third period saw Aware take the lead and hold on to it until the finish! Although Aware won this one, Mike Wilson got a hat-trick awarding him the Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game!
SHL Rolling Stone Player of the Game - Donny Kerfoot - Week 11 Dom Dumais 2017-03-04 | In our second game during week 11, we had the Sukhumvit Spitfires going head to head with Hooters Nana. The Spitfires have been on an amazing hot streak with winning their last 5 games before this one. The Spitfires won this one 5-4. Donny Kerfoot had an amazing game with his great defensive play as well as scoring 2 goals with the second one being an unassisted short handed goal, which caused him to be awarded the Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game.
SHL Rolling Stone Player of the Game - Jari Eerikainen - Week 10 Dom Dumais 2017-02-24 | In our second game on Sunday, we had Sport Corner - Titanium going head to head with Aware. This was an amazing battle from start to finish. At the end of the first period, both teams had a goal apiece, at the end of the second, both teams had 3 goals apiece. In the third period, Mike Wilson of Sport Corner - Titanium scored the game winning goal, which was assisted by Jari Eerikainen. This assist gave Jari a goal and 2 assists, winning him the Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game.
SHL Rolling Stone Player of the Game - Donny Kerfoot - Week 10 Dom Dumais 2017-02-24 | In our first game on Sunday this week, we had Sukhumvit Spitfires facing off against Hooters Nana. This was a fast paced game that was hard fought by both teams. Sukhumvit Spitfires wanted to keep their winning streak alive and Hooters Nana wanted to end their losing streak. This game saw Hooters tied it up in the last minutes in the game, but then Donny Kerfoot broke the tie with 30 seconds left in the game, Hooters pulled their goaltender again, but Donny sealed the game by sliding it into the empty net. He was awarded the Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game for scoring 4 goals, one being the game winner, and getting 2 assists.
SHL News Week 10, February 12 - 19, 2017 - Part 2 Dom Dumais 2017-02-24 | In our second night of games, Sunday, in our first game, we had Sukhumvit Spitfires facing off against Hooters Nana. This was a hard fought game with the Spitfires taking the lead and then Hooters would tie it up, and then Spitfires would take the lead and then Hooters would tie it up. This went on until the last 2 minutes of the game when Hooters pulled their goaltender and then tied it up again. Donny Kerfoot scored the game winner with 1:22 left in the game. Hooters pulled their goaltender again, and this time, Donny stole the puck and pushed the puck into the empty net to seal the win. Donny Kerfoot was the Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game with 4 goals and 2 assists.In our second game on Sunday, we had Sport Corner - Titanium going head to head with the Aware. This match up was even more exciting. At the end of the first, things were tied up 1 to 1. At the end of the second, things were tied up 3 to 3. Things looked like they might head into over time, until 8:45 of the third period when Sport Corner - Titanium got the game winning goal by Mike Wilson, which was assisted by Jari Eerikainen. Jari tallied up 1 goal and 2 assists to earn himself the Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game.
SHL Rolling Stone Player of the Game - Darren Boodle - Week 10 Dom Dumais 2017-02-17 | In the first game of the night, we had Hooters Nana vs Aware. Talk about a hard fought game for both teams! Aware scored the game winning goal with only 5 seconds left in the game. Darren Boodle earned himself the Rolling Stone Player of the Game with his outstanding game play and also scoring 2 goals.
