03:21 - The Making Of Perfect Dark
18:23 - Outro/Additional Info
Perfect Dark is the spiritual successor to Goldeneye 007 on the Nintendo 64. Though it didn’t sell as well as Goldeneye, Perfect Dark improves on almost every aspect of Goldeneye and was so technically demanding, that it requires the N64 memory expansion pak to play most of the game. This is the story behind the making of Perfect Dark.
A lot of the gameplay footage in this episode is from Granslu00’s channel. I highly recommend subscribing to him. He frequently uploads some incredible Perfect Dark and GoldenEye play throughs including custom levels, hacks, etc.

Just for fun I added a couple of bloopers at the very end of the video. There were way better ones but naturally I didn't think of putting them in the video until long after I had deleted everything else. Great planning!

But unlike the direct sales pitches made by the Atari Jaguar and Philips CDI infomercials, Sega decided to go with a more subtle approach. The end result was Absolutely Rose Street, a 30 minute production that’s presented to look more like a TV show than an infomercial. This is the story of Sega's ridiculous, and at times hilariously bad 90s infomercial, Absolutely Rose Street.

Have a small correction on the video. I accidentally used the NES NY trial run for the full launch date and the 7800 full retail launch date. I meant to use the full launch date for both. The NES full launch only beat the 7800 to market by a few months, which if anything it makes the sales number comparison more jarring in favor of Nintendo.

**This video corrects an error in the previous version that incorrectly stated that Star Fox 64 contained code from the unreleased Star Fox 2. It contained ideas and some mechanics used in Star Fox 2 but no code. I also removed some wording that may have given the impression Nintendo copied Croc: Legend Of the Gobbos when they made Mario 64.**

*** Correction: Please note that the particular Quadra, Centris, and Performa models shown were not on sale at the same time. However, the Quadra 605 was released alongside the Quadra 610, which was a renamed Centris 610. Meanwhile a slight redesign of the case was reused for the Power Macintosh 6100 and Performa 61xx series. (thank you to redditor tgunter for catching this and for the write up of the explanation.) ***

Video game developer Rare ltd has been around for an astonishing 31 years. After an incredible string of critical and commercial hits on the ZX Spectrum Rare had a lackluster run on the NES, however, Rare truly innovated again by bringing CGI graphics to the Super Nintendo. Rare would go on to have another impressive run of games on both the Super Nintendo and Nintendo 64. Eventually Rare was purchased by Microsoft and came on as a first party developer. In this the 3rd and final part of my look at Rare, we take a look at Rare's time with Microsoft, how they were still able to crank out a few titles for Nintendo during this time, and where they're going.

*** Correction: In the video I state that Knightlore was the first isometric game. While it did help to popularize the isometric genre it was not the first. There were a few others like Blue Max that came out for home consoles in 1983, while Knightlore was released in 1984 ***

Bleem! (styled as bleem!) was a commercial PlayStation emulator released by the Bleem Company in 1999 for IBM-compatible PCs and Dreamcast. It is notable for being one of the few commercial software emulators to be aggressively marketed during the emulated console's lifetime, and was the center of multiple controversial lawsuits. In this video we take a quick look at the story of one of the few console emulators commercially available in stores. This is the story of Bleem.
