There are a total of 9 windows, including 1 custom window that I make myself, and 2 doors in this design. All of the windows are single-pane utility windows since this shed wont' be insulated or climate controlled. There is a steel man-door and a 6'x7' steel roll up door as well.Per usual, I've never done any of this before so buckle up for more learnings at my expense. One of the biggest learnings happened when I discovered I had framed my man-door entry too small...so I get to cut into my brand new walls and fix that - fun!I also find out that installing a large metal roll up door alone is not only tricky, it's downright dangerous! I narrowly escape disaster standing that door up but I do get it into place.With all of that complete this shed is getting closer and closer to being done. Spoiler alert: I failed - mostly.In this video I fix my mistakes and finish off the waterproofing steps including applying the house-wrap and properly securing the roof underlayment. I then move onto installing the roof itself. For this project I am using Premium Pro-Rib roofing that I purchased from Menards. I got all of my roofing components in charcoal black.I have never done any kind of roofing work in my life, let alone installing a metal roof. To add to the complexity I had to order all of the roofing materials 3+ weeks before I even built the shed! Or at least got as close as I'm willing to get. Turns out solving dust collection on a sliding miter saw represents catching a unicorn in the woodworking world. There are so many variables at play that forming a solution that also allows you to use the saw - while still being effective - is very challenging.Through an iterative process I have arrived at 2 promising solutions to try. I designed and 3D printed a solution for each and tested the final versions. The results were surprising (though not in the same disappointing way that the first go around was). The travelling chute turned out to be the winner and oddly enough was also the simplest. There have been many attempts to fix it and it just hasn't quite been cracked yet. After getting my new miter saw (Ridgid 4251) I decided I want to tackle just that.Right off the bat - this Ridgid as well as it's clone the Delta Cruzer have pretty terrible standard dust collection options. Due to the dual arm sliding mechanism there just wasn't much room for the design engineers to accommodate one - or they just gave up trying. That means that addressing the dust collection on these particular saws is very important.I started by really looking at the saw and trying to understand where the sawdust is generated and where it is thrown by the blade. Then I mocked up a simple box that sits behind the blade that shrouds the blade as best as possible. Next I took that concept and modeled the entire thing in Fusion 360. It's such a simple concept I'm actually mad at myself for not thinking of it earlier. Each hanger is held in place by (2) bolts that ride inside of some parallel T-Track.
