Just something that I threw together really quick as a test. I've always wanted to do something like this in Vegas, and it actually turned out pretty good!
Render time: Approx. 1h 35m, on a 2.2GHz Core i5 laptop. :u
Programs involved/used:
- Sony Vegas 11
- FRAPS
- Winamp 5
Yeah, you read that last one right, what you're actually looking at here is my re-imagining of the visualizers you see on the Winamp Modern interface. Basically, I colored my Winamp in green (so I could key everything else out), recorded it with Fraps as I play this song, masked the visualizers and did the rest of the magic in Vegas.
Some of you might find the 3D thing impossible to do with Vegas. Well actually, it's already one of things you can do since... version 8, methinks. You can pretty much mess around with 3D in Vegas and make something like this, albeit really REALLY tedious to work with. If you're not too good with math and perspectives, you can quite easily mess the positions up while doing this.
Anywho, enough with the geek-talk. And since I love this song (and the rest of the music in this album), why don't you all go support Alex S. and buy his album? (if you haven't already ;D)

Another one in the backburner. Again, same with Renatus, originally thought Id put it in Rock Band as a full band custom, ultimately decided its way more fun in this Clone Hero form. Definitely worth it. I absolutely love charting arpeggios on guitar.
