Artec 3D scanners are used by Hyundai to create accurate 3D models of automative seats.
The main seat as well as buttons, switches and levers are integrated into the 3D models. These handheld scanners allow for scanning with the seat insitu in the vehicle as well as with the seats outside from the vehicle. Accurate seat contour measurement allows experimenting such with different foams to improve comfort. Seat models can also be compared with prototypes to meet comfort and ergonomic quality requirements.
