KIMLAB (Kinetic Intelligent Machine LAB) | 3D printable Robot Hand and Tactile Sensor based on Air-pressure and Capacitive Proximity Sensing @KIMLAB2020 | Uploaded March 2024 | Updated October 2024, 6 minutes ago.
This video presents KIMLAB's new three-fingered robotic hand, featuring soft tactile sensors for enhanced grasping capabilities. Leveraging cost-effective 3D printing materials, it ensures robustness and operational efficiency. By integrating readily available sensors, it adeptly detects interaction forces and proximity to conductive objects. With its 3D printed components and 6 servo motors, production is streamlined and cost-effective, coming in at under 370 USD per hand.

Toyota Research Institute (TRI) provided funds to support this work as a part of the "Superhuman Multimodal Sensing for Manipulation" project.
