The Hybridosaurus [Aves] | Qadim | 3:58 | Bladesworn PoV
updated
I picked up the new Bladesworn with supercharged cartridges quite recently, since it's pretty OP. In order to get more familiar with the rotation I joined quite a few PUG runs in the past.
With this video I want to show what sort of feedback you can extract from watching a PoV of yourself playing.
As always, I like doing multiple stages of difficulty. We first do a surface level analysis that's aimed more towards beginners, and then I do some deeper analysis of decisions I am making.
Hopefully this is insightful.

We gathered all Elementalist players on the EU server for this.
The way it works is that if you stack two greens, the first one is solved and the second one downs you. We replace the downstate with a Rebound.

Hi everyone. Since we have updated the strategy at 40% to allow for more DPS uptime (gains at least 5k squad DPS in the 50% - 10% phase even when it is not optimized), this has made the role of the portal DPS significantly more important but also more difficult.
No matter if you have malice or not, you now have to run to the edge to open your portal.
So I figured I'll do a PoV where I showcase that. This here is with Boon DPS, but you can obviously do the same as DPS Virtuoso.
Hi everyone!
Most people may know ToF CM as this fight where you all have to run Condition Virtuoso even if you don't want to, and if you don't do it then you cannot join groups!
While you were always allowed to take maybe 1 or 2 non-Virts to a classic run, the selection what made sense was still quite limited, and the comp was still comprised of 4-5 cVirts most of the time.
Well, over the past few months we have been working hard on spreading the word on strats that don't care that much what you play. What matters is that you can pump some nice damage numbers, but there are even low intensity builds that can do this! We hosted progression runs and are now at a point where we do daily kill runs with this strategy, so people can just join on whatever they enjoy playing. This should make the fight more accessible to and enjoyable for a lot more people.
The cVirt stacking strategy is still more popular (42% pickrate on Wingman, down from 50% on last patch ;)) so you'll find plenty of runs if you fancy that.
We're here to play this encounter as often as we like, as smoothly as we can, with whatever builds we can think of :)
Maybe see you soon?

Context (long):
Our first Decima CM kill as a guild, and the first kill for two of our members. We have started to include Decima CM into our Monday 3 hour fullclears.
Since we don't have much time for each boss if we are to complete all 8 wings in under 3 hours, this limits the number of wipes we are allowed.
We start with Wing 4 CM as a warm-up at 7 pm, then move onto Greer (normal mode). After Greer has died, we try Decima CM. At 7:45 pm we turn off CM and continue with normal mode Decima.
This week was the first time we managed to kill Decima CM (it died on the third attempt, after the first attempt was a 0.37% wipe).
Hopefully for next week we can build on this success, get her first try and then move onto the next part: Ura CM until TBD.
This will be even more challenging, because Ura CM quite a few of our players have never even tried her before, so we will have to spend a few weeks progging before having a shot at getting the kill.
The final goal is to also do Greer in CM, but I think quite a bit of time will pass until we will get consistent at that one. And for all of this to remain in sub 3 hour territory... huh... Yeah, we've got our work cut out for us.
Today was a good first step.

Yes, this is a video about a bug. I do think the game would be better off if ArenaNet fixed it, because it makes balance easier (don't have to balance for both people who get extra autos and those who don't).
That being said, the impact of this bug is rather small, so I understand ArenaNet is not diverting any amount of resources to fixing it.
Keep in mind that the SC Help Desk discord, as well as the GW2 subreddit have for good reasons strict rules about sharing bugs (rule 1: don't), so don't bother crossposting this video.
This is just a short 7 minute video on how to play the Flower strategy. With increased popularity of the strat on the Void Lounge discord I get asked more and more which PoV people should be watching.
Watching a PoV for your role is a great idea, in this video I just make some general comments that are generally useful for everyone.
I assume you already know how ToF CM works.
Some greeding around 40%.
Ahead of the Condi Virtuoso nerfs, I'm tinkering with a strategy that does not really need DPS Virtuosos, their cleave, or Bladesong Distortion (F4).
This is quite promising, although there is still some amount of difficulty with it.

Hello there!
I've wanted to do this updated video for a while, since my old 1 hour guide has been outdated for a while now.
In the first 15ish minutes, I give some introductory guidance aimed at beginners.
After that, the meat of the video follows, with a 45 minute explanation of every single decision made during the Condition Virtuoso benchmark.
A lot of players say they learn best when they understand "why" things are done the way they are done, so in this part I invite you into my world of ability cooldowns lining up, or not.
In the last part of the video, I include some useful information that is probably only relevant for 1% of players, but maybe you'll enjoy it regardless ;)
Good luck with the build, and I hope you have a great day.

Hello there!
This is the first of a few videos on my journey to get better at Condi Virtuoso on this fight. In the past 8 months I have mainly hosted runs, and as a commander I am much more comfortable when I do not have to do a DPS rotation. For that reason, I have not often enough had the opportunity to truly work out a good and consistent DPS rotation for this fight.
The best DPS log I've ever had was about 5 months ago where I hit 34.3k DPS. But that was just one log. My goal is to now spend a bit of time, to not only consistently accomplish those numbers, but actually go much higher.
My ultimate goal is to reach 36k DPS on the fight, and be consistently above 35k DPS.
So... let's see if this works out. Part of this project is to upload my PoVs so I, and others, can watch it, and spot errors I'm making so I can improve.
This is always a great thing to do, something that I think a lot of players could benefit from doing - record your gameplay and rewatch it.
A good side effect of the project is that there are currently a lot more support PoVs on youtube than there are "good" DPS povs. It's the reason I make those videos public rather than leaving them unlisted, so the collection of available PoVs can grow, and players can hopefully learn from them, too.

A different look at Ura compared to usual pug runs: CCing as much as possible for Exposed uptime and bringing out mechanics. Turns out, Condi Mech is pretty good for this, because it has so much built-in CC and a free blink. Exposed also makes Condition DPS pretty good for the fight, because the %-dmg increase is higher than Power and you always have your condis already applied and immediately profit off of exposed, which makes getting the benefit from it pretty "passive" and hence easy to play.
Many thanks to Bear, Florian, Seekin and Stef for participating earlier

Note how I saved my F5 for after the wall jump to immediately grant Protection to those who failed to jump.
Log: https://dps.report/4pOl-20241207-231811_cerus
Just an idea that's good for EoS, so it may also have merit in normal runs.
Important to reapply protection after the wall jump. The strat cannot be done if you get a late-rage phase timing because then the add rage will block the position. In that case, adapt to standard arrow-to-star southern movement.
We're still practicing the wing (who isn't? :D) but I liked that it was fairly clean.
I think to avoid the downstates in P3 we'll just put 2 and 3 people stacked together rather than stacking everyone at once.
Worth pointing out is the use of Stability and Aegis in P3, to avoid the effect of the violent winds we use Stability, which leaves me with Serpent Siphon for the Knockback.
I still need to more comfortable with the rotation of it, it's Work In Progress like everything.

Most progression runs should not expect you to know anything about the fight, but I know I am not alone in preferring to prepare myself as well as possible before taking on a challenge.

Even though this is the shortest of the three videos I have uploaded so far, it describes the biggest achievement: Reaching 95% of the benchmark on a build.
Any higher than this is only for personal ambition - in practice, 95% of the benchmark already covers the entire skill set that is needed to play a build at the highest possible level. At this point, it is more important to learn how to play specific bosses; and the skills we needed to get to this kind of bench number allow us to quite easily pick up on boss specific ideas.
I hope you enjoyed following along on this journey and maybe can take this as some inspiration for your own progression.

Given the current state of power creep, we aimed to get a sub 2 mins Ankka NM.
We went with a no healer comp in order to phase as quickly as possible.
However, at the end it's a rng game, because you need to get the tether mechanic in P3 in order to not lose dps uptime.
Also, the fast phase timings cause issues in the transition from P1 to P2, because if the Kraits spawn, the Specter has a hard time to quickly move into the second room.

Yes, the DPS is not good, I think around 1k DPS can quite easily be gained by taking a few more risks around 40% boss HP (and also at 10%) but then it's reaching its limits very soon.
That being said, this is still enough DPS to do Cerus CM with - if every DPS player did as much DPS as I did, we would have still phased P3 in time and would be able to kill the boss.
The silver lining of this build is really good CC, very good collection capabilities and extremely safe puddle drops.
