Lavoy started Zepbound in May 2024 at 357 lbs. By May 2025, he had lost 110 lbs — reaching 247 lbs in just one year. But in November 2024, he received a letter that would change everything: his insurance was dropping his Zepbound coverage effective January 1, 2025.
Skeptical of compounded GLP-1s at the time, he took his last shot in May 2025 — and like so many in the GLP-1 community, the weight came back. By the time he restarted, he was back to 306 lbs.
In February 2026, Lavoy made the decision to start compounded tirzepatide. He's now back down to 290 lbs and moving forward — with a new perspective, hard-won experience, and a story that a lot of people in this community need to hear.
