R-Type is one of my all-time favourite games. Iโm not very good at shoot โem-ups but back in the early 90s, I played R-Type to completion on the Sega Master System. Several years later I went looking for a Mega Drive version of the game, only to learn that it never came to my favourite 16-bit console. For the next 30 years, I kept drifting back what could have been. R-Type deserved to be on the Sega Genesis, the sound, the visuals, and the number of sprites, it was perfect for Segaโs console. Well finally, my yearning for this game on the Mega Drive has been fulfilled with Mega R-Type.
