I have added a UART to the mix (a boring old 8250) and fixed a few more faults in the circuit. You might notice the terminal is set to 300 baud but the text is appearing much slower than that. This is because I put a software delay in the program for debugging.

The Mac is a Quadra 660av running White Knight for the terminal. It was on my desk already and it had a serial port.
