The Star of Earth, was Uranus when the global civilization built the pyramids. They were wiped out when the star changed to Saturn. The world expanded, was flooded, and cooled dramatically ushering in the last ice age. When the glaciers retreated whatever remained of the human population began rebuilding with Saturn ruling the skies.
The transition to Jupiter was not without its own trouble but not nearly as bad as when Uranus gave up the helm. The age of Jupiter was well recieved and society flourished and myth became solidified as the titans, the olympians, the planets, battled in the skies.
Finally Jupiter handed over the reins to Sol, who has been running the show ever since.
