When Surfrider Europe first started we were a group of surfers worried about the health of our playground.
Today, weâre experts in the field of ocean protection; tackling marine litter and plastic pollution, water quality and public health, climate change and coastal management.
Through a passionate network of volunteer chapters in coastal communities and cities across Europe, we educate, raise awareness and organize on-the-ground actions. We empower citizens and specialists to advance scientific research and influence legislation that places ocean protection at the heart of the political debate.
Since 1990 our work at the local, national and highest European levels has led to hundreds of environmental victories. Together, we drive real change to protect the places we love.
