Italian post-punk force 30 DENARI return with a striking first statement from their upcoming debut album Kindly Plotting For Riot, delivering a track that cuts straight through the noise of modern existence. “Modern Era Working Class” is a tense, cold-blooded reflection of contemporary survival, walking on earth, drowning inside.
Emerging from Italy’s underground with a sound steeped in post-punk, alt rock and industrial textures, 30 DENARI channel the stark minimalism of Joy Division, the shadowed theatricality of Bauhaus, and the militant pulse of Killing Joke, while injecting a modern electro-industrial urgency that feels suffocatingly present.
“Modern Era Working Class” unfolds like an endless loop: early alarms, long shifts, counting every coin, chasing stability that never arrives. The repetition in both rhythm and lyric mirrors the monotony of late-capitalist life. The refrain “We’re poor and busy / We try to fit in the box / It ain’t easy”, becomes less a hook and more a collective confession.
