At the beginning of the 19th century the Old Word Advent Awakening began. Over 100 important books were written on the 2nd Advent and the prophecies in the first four decades of the 19th century. Bible societies were formed. Societies for the revival of the Protestant Reformation were formed. Churches that were frozen in formality were quickened into life. Rome keenly felt the effect of these efforts and set about with a clear-cut plan of attack. It would change the biblical text of Protestants and change the Protestant method of biblical interpretation.
