You've hopefully heard the phrases, "behavior has meaning," "behavior is communication," or "feelings are at the root of behavior." Here at the Devereux Center for Resilient Children, we encourage you to tend to that root, that meaning, as opposed to only reacting to behavior. In this video, Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist Rachel Wagner, MSW, shares three possible roots or origins of challenging behavior.
