Our Prep Focus for this week is First Aid and Medical. Pay special attention to your unique needs. We recommend these action items:
1. Inventory your first aid supplies. Make a list of items you need to replenish your kits.
2. Take a first aid course … you can learn a lot on YouTube … choose carefully.
3. Consider joining your local CERT Community Emergency Response Team. Check with your local fire department.
4. Inventory your over-the-counter and prescription medications. Check expiration dates. Make a list of items you should replenish. Dispose appropriately of old medication.
5. If you have medical equipment: Do you have a backup power supply? Do you have extra parts? Tubing?
6. Purchase items on your list as finances allow.
7. Organize all the supplies so that they are easily accessible and you know where to find everything in an emergency.
