I've got three gift-giving no nos that you should NEVER do when giving a gift.
1: Never give anything store-bought when you can think of something to make by hand.
2: Never give a woman something in a color you haven't seen her wearing. The safest color to give a woman is BLACK.
3: Always practice "SAFE SOCKS" - NEVER give a guy anything that is a flashy color unless you know that he's the kind of guy that likes to wear lime green and purple argyle. "Safe Sock" colors are black, gray, and navy blue, and that goes for any item of clothing, not just socks.
