We traveled from San Francisco to Chicago onboard the ICONIC California Zephyr spending one day in Coach, another day in a Roomette, and the third and final day in a Bedroom.

Amtrak’s California Zephyr is such an amazing experience, I’ve done it twice now. But this time even better. We stopped in Reno and Denver for 24 hours in part so we could see these cities, but also so we could switch room types for each leg.
In Coach, we’ll show you the Cafe Car and when we travel in a Roomette and in a Bedroom, we’ll show you the Dining Car!
We’ll even get “scientific” by measuring the space you get in each category: Coach Seat and the beds in the Roomette and Bedroom!
