Here we have 3 separate recordings of "That's The Way," written by Paul Trefzger of Saxony Records. The first one 00:00 is The group "The Twi-Lighters," this take was never released on 45. It was made public years later on a CD of the Saxony vaults. It has a much smoother calmer sound to it, I love the background deep vocals. The second one 02:15 is the take relased to the public on 78, by the group "Rollie Willis and The Contenders with The Matadors." At the time of this writing, this is a 500 dollar record near the top of the scale, G+ is currently for sale at 250.00. After this, we have an alternate recording 04:46 by the same group. Maybe a private practice recording, involving a very out of tune piano and non-studio sounding recording quality.
This has been one of my favourite records for quite some time, ever since I got into doowop back around age 14.
