In this solo, I explore different approaches across each chorus. Here's what's going on:
🎶 Chorus 1:
Think of it like a sandwich — the A sections are global and bluesy (the bread), while the bridge is packed with bebop 8th notes — spicy, flavorful, and full of energy.
🎶 Chorus 2:
I shift the sound dramatically by interweaving two triad pairs: Bb major and Db diminished — inspired by the ferocious Sidney Bechet.
In the bridge, I continue with triad pairs, this time two major triads. I also reharmonize the changes using descending semitones instead of the cycle of 4ths — because, why not?
It’s my solo, my vision, my video.
I wrap this chorus with a nod to Coltrane’s “Resolution” melody from A Love Supreme — a personal favorite and a memorable close.

Full-on bebop! Voice leading, chromatics, and classic jazz language.
