a quick clarification on what i mean when i say i hesitate to call white ivy a thriller because as per usual i don't think i articulated myself very well - it absolutely falls under the broad thriller genre, but i think for many people, calling it a "thriller" comes with certain connotations that are more aligned with commercial white thrillers, and white ivy doesn't really feel that way, so my hesitation is more about tampering expectations so that you don't feel disappointed that the book isn't delivering what it isn't really trying to, if that makes sense. if you're interested, jesse (Bowties & Books) has a great video talking about this subject: youtu.be/QATXN9SEwDw
